What Riserva asks for
During install, Shopify asks you to approve the app’s access. Riserva needs to:- read your locations — your properties become the top level of Riserva
- manage your orders — this is how an online reservation becomes a reservation, and how refunds go back through Shopify
- manage products — each experience you publish becomes a Shopify product, and so does each add-on
- manage sales channels — to make those products available on your Online Store and Point of Sale
- manage draft orders — for payment links on phone and walk-in reservations
- manage your customers — to find or create a guest, and to recognise wine-club members by their tags
- manage files — for experience, venue and add-on photos, email logos, and files attached to notes on a reservation
- saved cards and purchase options — for experiences that save the guest’s card at checkout and charge it later
- manage fulfillment — so an order whose card is charged later is released for processing when it’s placed and marked fulfilled when the party checks in
- checkout rules — so Riserva can add the checkout rule “Check reservations at checkout”, which stops a guest paying for a reservation whose date has already passed, or whose quantity no longer matches its party. Riserva adds it by itself the first time you open the app; it is listed under Settings → Checkout → Checkout rules in your Shopify admin
The setup guide on Home
When you open Riserva, Home leads with a Setup guide card and a “n / 4 completed” counter. Each step links to the page where you do the work, and each one ticks itself off from your own data — you don’t have to remember to mark anything done.
Riserva can’t see inside your theme, so the widget step waits for the widget
itself to phone home — visiting your product page after adding the block is
enough.
You can tick a step manually with the circle on the left, and dismiss the whole
guide from its three-dot menu (or with Dismiss Guide once every step is
done).
Good to know Dismissing the setup guide is permanent — there’s no way to bring it back. Leave it until you’ve genuinely finished.
The order to do things in
Riserva is built in layers, and each one needs the one below it:- Locations — mirrored from Shopify automatically. Set each one’s timezone.
- Venues — the bookable rooms inside a location: a tasting bar, a restaurant, a tour meeting point.
- Tables — the real capacity inside a venue.
- Policies — what happens when a guest cancels.
- Experiences — what guests actually book, with a schedule and a price.
- The widget — the booking surface on your website.
What else is on Home
Once you’re running, Home is your morning glance:- Today by location — a tile per property, showing today’s reservations broken down by status.
- This week — reservations, covers and booked value for the next seven days by visit date, compared with the same weekdays over the past four weeks, with a covers-per-day chart and an Open Host button. It appears once you have reservations ahead or some history.
- Next 10 upcoming reservations — guest, when, party, venue, status, with a Member badge where it applies. Click a row to open the reservation.
- Quick actions — Book reservation, for a phone call.
- Payments queue — for experiences that charge a saved card later: how many charges are due, charging, or failed, with Run due charges to collect now instead of waiting for the hourly run.
- Recent activity — the last few things that happened across your shop: reservations made and changed, payments, waitlist movement, guest emails. View all activity opens the full feed, newest first, with each entry linking to its reservation.
Getting around
The navigation has six items:Set your date and time formats early
Settings → Regional formats controls how times and dates read everywhere — in the admin, in the booking widget, and in guest emails.- Time format — 12-hour (2:30 PM) or 24-hour (14:30)
- Numeric dates — MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD
