This page covers everything Riserva shows inside Shopify POS: the three smart-grid tiles (Reservations, Book reservation and Bill credits), the host screens behind the Reservations tile (the day list, a reservation’s detail page, the waitlist), the booking steps behind Book reservation, and the Bill credits list.

Setting up the tiles

Why don’t I see the Riserva tiles on my register?

The tiles only appear after Riserva’s extensions are activated in the POS editor and added to the smart grid. In Shopify admin go to Sales channels → Point of Sale, open the POS editor, activate Riserva in the Apps section, then add Reservations, Book reservation and Bill credits to the grid and save the layout as the default. Until the activation step is done, the tiles do not show up in any “Add tile” list on the device. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What are the three Riserva tiles for?

Reservations is the host stand: today’s arrivals, who is on the property, the waitlist, and who is done (completed or no-show). Book reservation takes a walk-in or phone reservation and can put the payment in the register cart. Bill credits lights up when the customer in the cart has a prepaid fee they can spend on their purchase. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does “Not enabled” under a Riserva tile mean?

Riserva’s register features are switched off for your shop, so the tile cannot load anything. Tapping it shows “POS reservations aren’t enabled for this shop.” Contact Riserva support to have them turned on. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does “POS reservations aren’t enabled for this shop.” mean?

Riserva’s register features are switched off for your shop, so none of the three tiles can show or change reservations. Contact Riserva support to have them turned on. Everything in the Riserva admin keeps working meanwhile.

POS › Reservations tile (on the smart grid)

What does the number on the Reservations tile mean?

It is how many reservations this register’s location has today, counting every one that is not cancelled, including parties already checked in, completed or marked as no-shows. The number is taken when the POS home screen loads and does not update by itself, so it can be behind. Open the tile for the current list. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does “Today’s reservations” under the Reservations tile mean?

It is the tile’s label for today’s reservation list at this register’s location. Tap the tile to open the list.

Reservations › Day list

What does the line under “Reservations” at the top mean?

It names the location this register belongs to and the day on screen, for example “Napa Tasting Room · today”. When you move to another day it shows that day’s date instead of “today”. The register always shows its own location’s reservations; “today” means today in that location’s time zone.

What do ”‹ Prev”, “Today” and “Next ›” do?

They move the list one day back, back to today, or one day forward. “Today” is greyed out while you are already looking at today.

What is “Jump to a day”?

It is a date picker that opens the list for any day you choose, past or future. Use “Today” to come back. It does two things at once. It filters the tabs on screen by guest name, reservation code, phone number or email (the Done tab included). Once you have typed two or more characters, it also searches every day and every location by code, name, email or phone, and shows those matches under Other days. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What do the numbers in the tabs mean, like “Arriving (6)”?

Each number is how many rows are in that tab right now. If you have typed in the search field, the number counts only the rows that match.

What is in the “Arriving” tab?

Reservations for the day on screen that have not checked in yet: confirmed parties and any still waiting on checkout payment. Rows are in time order. Tap a row to check the party in or mark it a no-show.

What is in the “On property” tab?

Parties that are checked in or seated. Tap a row to seat a checked-in party, complete the visit, or press Still here for a party that is running over. The big button is the likely next step (Seat, then Complete); the rest of the party’s actions are behind More actions.

What is in the “Waitlist” tab?

Walk-in parties waiting at this location right now, oldest first. The waitlist always shows who is waiting now, whatever day you are looking at in the other tabs.

Where did a completed or no-show reservation go?

To the Done tab. Completed visits and no-shows leave the Arriving and On property tabs, because there is nothing left to do for them at the door, and are listed under Done instead. They still count in the number on the grid tile.

What is in the “Done” tab?

The day’s completed visits and no-shows, the most recently finished first. Each row has a Completed or No-show badge and ends with when it finished: “ended 3:40 PM” for a completed visit, “marked 3:40 PM” for when the party was marked a no-show. Payment due, Refund due and Credit badges still show, and tapping a row opens its detail page, with an “Ended” or “Marked no-show” row, so you can still apply a bill credit or collect a balance — and, for a no-show, Undo no-show if the guest walked in after all. The search finds these parties too.

What does “No completed visits or no-shows yet today.” mean?

No party at this location has finished a visit or been marked a no-show yet today. On another day the tab reads “No completed visits or no-shows on this day.”

What do the “Completed” and “No-show” badges mean?

“Completed” means the visit ended, whether a host pressed Complete or it ended by itself. “No-show” (orange) means the party was marked as not having come, by a host or automatically by your store’s No-shows setting. Both are under the Done tab.

What do the initials in the circle on a row mean?

They are the guest’s initials, first and last name. A person icon instead of initials means the reservation has no guest name on it.

Why does a row say “Guest” instead of a name?

The reservation has no guest name and no email, which happens when a walk-in was booked as a guest with no details. If the party later pays at the register with a customer attached, Riserva fills in the missing name, email and phone from that sale. When there is an email but no name, the row shows the email.

What does the grey line under the guest’s name on a row mean?

It is the reservation’s time, party size, experience and, when it has one, its table, for example “2:00 PM · Party of 4 · Estate Tasting · Table 3”.

What does “(suggested)” after a table name mean?

Riserva picked that table for the party, but nobody on your team has confirmed it yet. Open the party and tap the Table section: Keep makes it yours, Change table… picks another. Two tables joined with ”+” (for example “Table 3 + Table 4”) mean the party is spread across both. See also: Tables and floor maps

What do “Suggested”, “Assigned” and “Locked” in the Table section mean?

They say who chose the table. Suggested is Riserva’s pick, which it may move to make room for another party until the party arrives. Assigned means a host chose it and Riserva works around it. Locked means nobody can move the party until someone taps Unlock. See also: Tables and floor maps

What does “Keep” on the Table page do?

It makes Riserva’s pick a host’s choice: the badge changes to Assigned and Riserva will no longer move the party. If the table changed a moment before you tapped, the iPad says “The table changed a moment ago — it is now …” and shows the new one, so you can look again.

What does “Let Riserva choose” do?

It hands an assigned table back to Riserva, which may pick the same table or another one. The badge goes back to Suggested.

Why is there no “Change table…” button?

The table is Locked. Tap Unlock first, then change it.

What do “Free”, “Taken — Maria G. at 2:00 PM” and “Too small for 4” mean in the table list?

They describe each table at this party’s time. Free: nobody holds it. Taken: another party holds it — shown by first name and last initial, and the time of their reservation. Too small for 4: it doesn’t seat this party, so it can’t be tapped. “This party’s table” is where they are now — it carries the same Suggested, Assigned or Locked badge as the Table section. Rows like “T2 + T3 · 4–8 seats” are tables you have set up to be joined. See also: Tables and floor maps

What does “Riserva’s pick for Owen B. — they would be moved” mean?

Riserva had pencilled that table in for another party who hasn’t arrived yet. You can still take it: that party is given another table automatically.

What does “Assign anyway?” mean?

The table you tapped is held by another party at an overlapping time. Assign anyway double-books it — both parties show on it until one of them moves. Cancel changes nothing.

What does “This visit is over — its table can’t be changed.” mean?

The reservation is completed, a no-show or cancelled, so its table is kept as the record of where the party sat.

What does the arrow on the right of a row mean?

The whole row is a button. Tap anywhere on it to open the reservation’s detail page, where the actions are.

What does the “Member” badge mean?

The guest was recognized as a member of your club when the reservation was made, because their Shopify customer carries one of your member tags. It is the same member check Riserva uses everywhere else. See also: Member benefits

What does the “Confirmed” badge mean?

The reservation is on the books and the party has not checked in yet. It turns into Late once the party is more than 10 minutes past its time.

What does the yellow “Late” badge mean?

The party’s start time was more than 10 minutes ago and it has not checked in. Open the row to call the guest (their phone is on the detail page) or mark the party a no-show. A party still waiting on its payment (Pending payment) turns Late the same way, as it does on Host. On a past day every such party that never checked in shows as Late.

What does the yellow “Pending payment” badge mean?

The guest placed an order for this reservation, but Shopify has not confirmed the payment yet, for example a bank transfer or a manual payment method. The party still appears under Arriving and can be checked in or marked a no-show. See also: Payment policies and money states

What do the blue “Checked in” and green “Seated” badges mean?

“Checked in” means the party has arrived and been checked in. “Seated” means they have also been taken to their table or spot. Both mean the party is on the property. The colours are the admin’s: blue for checked in, green for seated. When a host recorded that only part of a checked-in party is here, the badge reads “Partial check-in” instead, in yellow, on the On property row and on the party’s page alike.

What does the red “Payment due” badge mean?

The reservation owes money that has not been collected, usually a phone or walk-in reservation for a priced experience. Open the row: when the register can ring the balance, the detail page offers Add to cart — collect $X. Otherwise collect it from the reservation page in the admin with a payment link, “Mark paid on-site” or “Waive”. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does the red “Partially paid” badge mean?

Some money was collected and more is still owed, most often because the party grew after paying. Collect the difference with Add to cart — collect $X on the detail page when it is offered, or from the reservation page in the admin. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does the red “Charge failed” badge mean?

The guest’s saved card was charged for the balance and the charge did not go through. The money is still owed. The detail page shows the reason in a red banner and, when the register can ring it, an Add to cart — collect $X button: ring it like any other sale and the reservation settles itself. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does the red “Booked after its time” badge mean?

The guest paid for this reservation after its visit had already ended — for example a reservation left in a cart for days and paid later. Riserva kept the reservation (money is never dropped) but did not send the guest a confirmation. If the party is at the door, check them in as usual; the decision about the original booking — move it to a new date or cancel it with a refund — is made on the reservation page in the admin. The badge goes away once the reservation is moved, cancelled, completed or marked a no-show. See also: Troubleshooting

What does the “Refund due” badge mean?

Riserva owes this guest money back, for example after a paid party got smaller at check-in, and the refund has not been sent yet. The register cannot send refunds. Open the reservation in the Riserva admin and use Retry refund (or Mark handled in Shopify) on its Payment card. See also: Cancellations and refunds

What does a “Credit $40” badge on a row mean?

The guest prepaid an entry fee that your experience credits toward their purchase, and that credit has not been used yet. When you ring their wine, open the row, tap More actions, then **Apply Xcredittosale∗∗,orusetheBillcreditstile.Thebadgeshowstheexactamount, forexample"CreditX credit to sale**, or use the Bill credits tile. The badge shows the exact amount, for example "Credit 12.50”; a whole-dollar credit drops the cents (“Credit $13”). See also: Payment policies and money states

Why doesn’t a charge-later reservation show a payment badge on its row?

On the list, a payment badge appears only when money is owed and someone needs to act (Payment due, Partially paid, Charge failed). A reservation whose saved card will be charged automatically shows its state, such as Charge scheduled, on its detail page instead, with a sentence saying when and on which card.

What does “Other days” mean under the tabs?

These are reservations matching your search that are not on the day you are looking at: another day, another location, or a cancellation. Up to 20 matches closest to today are shown, in date order. Use it when a guest at the door is not on today’s list. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What do “Yesterday”, “Tomorrow” or “In 3 days” on a search result mean?

They say how far that reservation’s date is from today at this location, so you can tell the guest “you’re booked for tomorrow” at a glance. The row also shows the date, time and party size, and the location’s name when it is a different location from this register’s.

Why does a search result have a red “Cancelled” badge?

The search deliberately includes cancelled reservations so you can tell a guest at the door that their reservation was cancelled. You can open it to read its details, but it offers no check-in and no payment button.

What does “Searching all days…” mean?

Riserva is still looking for matches on other days and at other locations. Results appear a moment after you stop typing.

What does “No reservations on other days match.” mean?

Nothing on any other day or at any other location matches what you typed. Try part of the name, the email, the last digits of the phone number, or the reservation code.

What does “No upcoming reservations today.” mean?

Nobody else is expected at this location today: every reservation has checked in, finished or been marked a no-show, or there were none. On another day the same tab reads “No reservations on this day.”

What does “Nobody’s checked in yet.” mean?

No party is checked in or seated on the day you are looking at.

What does “Nobody’s waiting right now.” mean?

The waitlist at this location is empty. Add a party from the Book reservation tile when an experience has no times left today.

What does “No matches for “…”” in a tab mean?

Nothing in that tab matches what you typed in the search field. Check Other days below the tabs, or clear the search to see the whole list again.

Reservations › Detail page

What is the detail page?

It is the full-screen page that opens when you tap a row, laid out like the party panel on the admin Host page. The top shows the guest’s name with the time and experience under it, then the badges, then titled sections: Reservation, Guests (only while part of the party is here), Table, Payment and Contact (last). The buttons for what you can do now are pinned at the bottom, with Back always last; Back returns to the list.

What does the blue banner starting with “Charges $…” mean?

The guest booked online with a saved card and has not paid yet, and Riserva will collect the balance by itself. The banner, in the page’s Payment section, names the amount, when, and the card, for example “Charges $120.00 from Sun, Sep 20, 2026, 2:00 PM · collected within the hour · Visa •••• 4242”. Do not ring the party up at the register for this money. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does “Charges $X when you check the party in” mean?

The guest’s saved card is charged at the moment you check the party in. Checking in from the register charges it on the spot; nothing needs to be rung at the till. The badge beside it reads Card on file.

What does “Charges $X when the visit is closed out, unless it is settled at the register” mean?

The experience is charged “At the visit”: the guest saved a card, and checking in does not charge it. You can settle the fee at the register beside anything else they buy: Add to cart — collect $X on this page, or the Bill credits tile. If nobody does, the saved card is charged once the visit is completed, from 15 minutes after that. The badge reads Card on file. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does “at the next collection run — queued” mean in the charge banner?

The time to charge the saved card has already arrived, and Riserva will take the payment on its next collection, which runs every hour. Nothing has failed and there is nothing to do.

What does “Charging… confirming with Shopify” mean?

Riserva has asked Shopify to charge the saved card and Shopify has not finished yet. The badge reads Charging. This is not a payment yet: do not collect the money again at the register. It turns into Paid or Charge failed shortly. See also: Payment policies and money states

What do the “Charge scheduled”, “Card on file” and “Charging” badges mean?

All three mean the guest’s card is saved and Riserva is collecting the balance, so the register should not. Charge scheduled is charged on a set date, Card on file is charged when the party checks in (or, for an “At the visit” experience, when the visit is closed out, unless the fee is settled at the register first), and Charging means the charge is in progress with Shopify right now. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does “saved card” or “(expired)” mean in the charge banner?

“saved card” appears when Riserva does not know the card’s brand. “(expired)” means the saved card is past its expiry date, so the charge will likely fail; ask the guest to pay another way, or watch for Charge failed and collect then.

What does the red banner on a reservation mean?

It is the reason the guest’s saved card could not be charged, in Shopify’s or Riserva’s words. The money is still owed. Use Add to cart — collect $X at the bottom when it is offered; otherwise send a payment link from the reservation page in the admin.

What does the yellow “Running over” badge mean?

The party is checked in or seated and past the end of its reservation, or past the extra time a Still here press gave it. Unless your store is set to “Never — staff press Complete”, Riserva marks the visit completed by itself — at the reservation’s end plus your grace period, or at the end of the day, as Settings → Reservations → Ending visits says — so you do not need to press Complete. If they are still there, press Still here at the bottom to give them another 30 minutes. A party that is on time shows nothing about ending: that is simply how visits work in your store. See also: Set up the waitlist, early arrivals and ending visits

What does the “A $X refund is owed to this guest” sentence mean?

Riserva owes this guest money back and has not sent it yet. The register cannot move money back to a guest. Open the reservation in the Riserva admin and use Retry on its Payment card. See also: Cancellations and refunds

What does the “Reservation” row show?

The reservation’s code, for example RES-8F5A76. It is the code the guest has in their confirmation and the one printed on the register receipt.

What do the “Day” and “Property” rows mean?

They appear only when the reservation is not for today at this register’s location, which happens when you opened it from a search. “Day” gives its date and how far away it is (for example “Mon, Sep 21 — tomorrow”); “Property” names the other location. Check them before you act.

What do the “Time”, “Party”, “Experience” and “Table” rows mean?

The Reservation section: the code, the start time, how many guests (“4 guests”), which experience and where (experience · venue), add-ons to deliver and special requests. The table is in its own Table section, with “(suggested)” after it while it is only Riserva’s pick; payment is in Payment, phone and email in Contact (last). When only part of the party came, a Guests section reads “2 of 4 here” with All here and Edit. To change the party size itself, use More actions → Adjust party size.

What does “2 of 4 here” mean on an On property row?

A host recorded that two of the party of four have arrived (Partial check-in…, or Edit guests here later). It replaces “Party of 4” on the row; once the whole party is recorded, the row reads “Party of 4” again. The reservation is still for four and nothing was refunded.

What does “Edit guests here” do?

It records how many of the party actually came. The page becomes the question “How many of the party of 4 are here?” with a number you step between 1 and the party size (it starts at the last number recorded, or the whole party); tap Save, or Cancel to leave it. The toast reads, for example, “2 of 4 guests here” or “All 4 guests here”. The party size and what was paid do not change; Reports count the guests who came. Undoing the check-in clears the number. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does the “Status” row in the Payment section mean?

It is the reservation’s payment state, in the same words as the admin: for example “Paid”, “Payment due”, “Partially paid”, “Card on file” or “Charge scheduled”. The Payment section appears when the experience is priced, or when there is a credit, a refund owed or a saved-card charge to explain. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does the “Bill credit” row mean?

The guest has prepaid credit they can spend on their purchase, for example “40.00—applyitfromMoreactionswhenringingthesale".Whenyouringtheirpurchase,tap∗∗Moreactions∗∗atthebottomofthepage,then∗∗Apply40.00 — apply it from More actions when ringing the sale". When you ring their purchase, tap **More actions** at the bottom of the page, then **Apply 40.00 credit to sale**. See also: Payment policies and money states

Why do I see the guest’s phone and email?

So you can call or email a late party. They are in the Contact section, the last on the page, and appear only when the reservation has them. Riserva records each time a register loads this contact information, as Shopify requires for customer data.

What does the “Add-ons” row mean?

It lists what the guest bought with the reservation, for example “2 × Cheese plate”. Use it as your hand-over checklist. A line marked “(refunded — don’t deliver)” was refunded, so do not serve it.

What does the “Special requests” row mean?

It is the note the guest or your team added when the reservation was made, such as an allergy or a celebration.

What is “Adjust party size”?

It changes the reservation itself — how many people it is for — on its own page: “This changes the reservation itself. To record that only part of the party came, use Partial check-in instead.” Step the number and tap Save, or Cancel to leave it. A smaller party may be refunded under your cancellation policy (the page shows how much before you save); a bigger one may owe more. The toast reads, for example, “Party size is now 3”. To record that only some of the party came, without changing the reservation, use Partial check-in… instead.

What is “Partial check-in…”?

The other half of Check in, for when only part of the party is here. The page asks “How many of the party of 4 are here?” with a counter from 1 to the party (it starts one below); Check in checks the party in and records the count — the party size and what was paid stay as they are — and Cancel leaves it. The toast reads, for example, “Checked in — 3 of 4 here”. The party’s page then reads Partial check-in in yellow and shows a Guests section with All here and Edit for when the rest arrive. Same as the admin’s Check in drop-down. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does “Was 4 — updating to 3.” mean?

You changed the number on the Adjust party size page, and tapping Save will change the reservation from the booked number to the new one. The lines under it say what happens to the money.

What does “If the added guests owe more, the balance is recorded on the reservation.” mean?

The party got bigger. For a priced experience, the extra guests’ share becomes money owed on the reservation, and it shows as Partially paid or Payment due. Collect it with Add to cart — collect $X or from the reservation page in the admin.

What does “$X will be queued to refund per the cancellation policy” mean?

The party got smaller, and your cancellation policy gives back this amount for the guests who are no longer coming. The register cannot send it, so it is recorded as owed and the reservation shows Refund due until someone sends it from the reservation’s Payment card in the admin. See also: Cancellations and refunds

What does the sentence about money kept under the cancellation policy mean?

When your cancellation policy does not refund all of the removed guests’ share, a sentence says how much is refunded and how much is kept, and why. Removing guests with Adjust party size counts as a partial cancellation, so the same rules apply as when a guest cancels. See also: Cancellation policies

What does “A buyout is one price for the whole venue — the smaller party changes nothing owed.” mean?

This experience is priced for the whole venue, not per guest, so fewer guests neither refunds nor charges anything. Save the new size as usual.

What does “Any refund for the smaller party follows the cancellation policy” mean?

Riserva could not work out the exact refund figure just now, for example because of a weak connection. Saving still applies your cancellation policy and records any refund on the reservation; you can see the amount afterwards on its Payment card in the admin.

What does “Refund $X in full instead” do?

It refunds the removed guests’ whole share instead of what your cancellation policy allows, and the override is recorded on the reservation’s timeline. It appears only when the policy would keep some money and your shop allows it under Settings → Policies → Refund overrides. Tap Use the policy amount instead to undo the choice before saving; changing the party size again also undoes it. See also: Cancellations and refunds

What does “Check in” do?

It checks the whole party in, and the reservation moves to the On property tab (only part of the party here? use Partial check-in… beside it). The toast reads “Checked in”. If the guest saved a card that has not been charged yet, it is charged at the same moment — except for an experience charged “At the visit”, whose card waits until the visit is closed out. If the party is early by more than your early-arrival window, the page first asks whether to move the reservation to now. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does the toast “Charge submitted — Shopify is confirming it.” mean?

The party is checked in and the saved card has been sent to Shopify to charge. The reservation turns Paid once Shopify confirms, usually within seconds. Do not ring the balance at the register.

What does the toast ”… the balance is collected within the hour.” mean?

The party is checked in, but Riserva could not reach Shopify to charge the saved card right then, so it handed the charge to its hourly collection. The card will be charged within the hour; nothing is needed at the register.

Why did Check in ask whether to move the reservation to now?

The party is checking in more than your early-arrival window ahead of its reservation’s time (60 minutes unless you changed it) — whether that time is later today or on another day. The banner at the top says when they are booked for, for example “Booked for Mon, Sep 21 at 8:00 AM — move it to now and check in?”. Choose to move the reservation to today, check in without moving it, or cancel. Set the window under Settings → Reservations → Early arrivals in the admin. See also: Host view

What does “Move to 2:00 PM and check in” do?

It moves the reservation to today’s time slot named on the button, frees the later slot for someone else, and checks the party in. The guest is not emailed about the move, since they are standing in front of you. When the button reads “Move to now and check in”, Riserva did not name a slot in advance and picks the one running now.

What do “move to the 2:00 PM slot (in progress)” and “move to today’s next slot” mean?

They say which of today’s times the reservation would land on. “In progress” means a slot that has already started; “today’s next slot” means nothing is running right now, so the move goes to the next start time today.

What does “no times here today, so it can’t be moved from here.” mean?

The experience has no time slots today at this venue, so the reservation cannot be moved to today from the register. Tap Check in without moving, or move the reservation from its edit page in the admin.

What does “Check in without moving” do?

It checks the party in and leaves the reservation on its original date and time. As the screen says, “Checking in without moving keeps the original date on the books”, so that later slot stays taken.

What does “Seat them anyway” mean?

Today’s slot you tried to move the party into is full, and the banner says so. Tapping Seat them anyway moves them in regardless, over capacity, and the override is recorded on the reservation. Choose Check in without moving instead if you would rather not overfill that slot.

What does “More actions” do?

It shows the rest of what you can do with this party, in the same order as the admin’s party panel. The bottom of the page keeps the collect button when money is due, the likely next step — Check in (with Partial check-in… under it), Seat, Complete or Undo no-show, depending on where the party is — plus one more (Complete beside Seat, or Still here when the party is running over), then More actions and Back. More actions swaps that strip for the rest: Adjust party size and No-show (arriving); Complete (when Still here took its place), Edit guests here (parties of two or more) and Undo check-in (checked in); Edit guests here (parties of two or more) and Unseat (seated); the bill-credit button; and Notify / Remove for a waitlist party. Its own Back, always last, returns to the first strip; the page’s Back closes the party.

What does “No-show” do?

It marks the reservation as a no-show: the party did not come. The toast reads “Marked as no-show” and the reservation moves from the Arriving tab to the Done tab. Use it once you have given up on a late party. Tapped by mistake? Open the party from the Done tab and tap Undo no-show.

Why did a late party move to Done without anyone tapping No show?

Your store marks no-shows by itself (Settings → Reservations → No-shows in the Riserva admin), and the party never checked in before the wait after its reservation time ran out, or before the day ended. Riserva marks such parties whenever the tile or the admin Host page loads the day, and at least once an hour, and the reservation’s history says it was marked automatically. If the guest walks in, tap Undo no-show on its detail page in the Done tab. See also: Set up the waitlist, early arrivals and ending visits

What does “Undo no-show” do?

It takes back a no-show called too soon, by a host or automatically, when the guest turns up after all. The party goes back to the Arriving tab as “Confirmed” (or “Pending payment” if that is what it was marked from), its no-show time is cleared, and it can be checked in. The toast reads “No-show undone”. The reservation’s history reads “No-show undone — the party is back among those arriving”, with the staff member’s name. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does “Seat” do?

It marks a checked-in party as seated, meaning they have been taken to their table or spot. The toast reads “Seated”.

What does “Complete” do?

It ends the visit now: the party has left, and the reservation moves to the Done tab. You rarely need it, because visits end by themselves (after the reservation’s end plus your grace period, or at the end of the day, depending on Settings → Reservations → Ending visits), unless your store is set to “Never — staff press Complete”. The toast reads “Completed”. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does “Still here” do?

It tells Riserva the party has not left yet, so the visit is not ended automatically for another 30 minutes. The toast reads “Still here — 30 more minutes”. It only appears once the party is past the end of its reservation, and you can press it again each time. It does not stop online reservations for the times after.

What does “Undo check-in” do?

It takes back a check-in tapped by mistake. The party goes back to the Arriving tab as it was before (“Confirmed”, or “Pending payment” if that is what it was checked in from), and its check-in time and any Guests here number are cleared. The toast reads “Check-in undone”. The reservation’s history reads “Check-in undone — the party is back among those arriving”, with the staff member’s name. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does “Unseat” do?

It takes back a Seat tapped by mistake: the party goes from “Seated” back to “Checked in” and stays on property. The toast reads “Unseated”. To undo the check-in too, open the party again and tap Undo check-in.

What does “Add to cart — collect $X” do?

It puts the reservation’s balance into the register cart as the experience’s own item, attaches the reservation’s guest as the cart’s customer, and labels the line with the reservation so the payment finds it. Complete the sale as usual and the reservation turns Paid by itself. If you do not complete the sale, nothing changes and the reservation stays owed. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

When is “Add to cart — collect $X” offered?

When the reservation owes money (Payment due, Partially paid or Charge failed), is not cancelled, its experience has its Shopify product, and the balance is a whole number of the experience’s price (whole guests, or the venue price for a buyout). It does not depend on how the reservation was made: phone, walk-in, an online reservation whose card failed, or one whose payment link went unpaid. An “At the visit” reservation whose fee is still on the saved card is offered too — until its close-out charge comes due (15 minutes after Complete). From that moment the saved card is about to be charged, so the register no longer offers to collect it; the reservation page in the admin keeps Charge now and Waive fee.

Why is there no “Add to cart” button on a reservation that owes money?

The register can only ring whole units of the experience, so an amount that is not a whole number of guests (for example part of a deposit) is not offered here. It is also missing when the experience has no Shopify product, or the reservation is cancelled. Collect such a balance from the reservation page in the admin with a payment link, “Mark paid on-site” or “Waive”. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does the toast “Added to cart for … — complete the sale to collect payment” mean?

The balance is in the register cart under the reservation’s guest. Go to the cart and take payment. If it adds “cart customer switched”, the customer who was in the cart was replaced by this guest; “previous cart customer removed” means the reservation has no customer on file, so the cart now has none.

What does “Switch the cart’s customer?” mean?

The register cart already has a different customer attached than the guest on this reservation. Switch customer and add — collect $X replaces that customer with this guest and adds the balance, so the order and the payment land on the right profile. Cancel leaves the cart as it is and adds nothing.

What does “Apply $X credit to sale” do?

It puts the guest’s bill credit on the sale in the register: the cart gets a discount named “Riserva credit” plus the reservation code, and the timeline reads “Xputonaregistersale—itisusedwhenthatsalecompletes",withyourname.Thecreditisspentonlywhenthatsalecompletes;ifthecartisclearedorthesaleisabandoned,thecreditstaysonthereservationandyoucanapplyitagain.Ringatleastoneitemintothecartfirst—withanemptycartthetapisrefused.Thetoastreads"AppliedX put on a register sale — it is used when that sale completes", with your name. The credit is spent only when that sale completes; if the cart is cleared or the sale is abandoned, the credit stays on the reservation and you can apply it again. Ring at least one item into the cart first — with an empty cart the tap is refused. The toast reads "Applied X to the sale — it is used when the sale completes”. After one credit is applied, the other credit buttons are greyed out and read “A credit is on this sale — it is used when the sale completes”, because the register holds one discount per sale; they come back as soon as the cart is empty again. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does “Couldn’t add the discount to the sale — try again” mean?

The register did not accept the credit’s discount, so nothing reached the sale. The credit is still on the reservation, untouched. Tap Apply $X credit to sale again rather than typing a discount yourself: the discount Riserva adds carries the reservation code, which is how the credit is spent when the sale completes.

What does the toast “Checked in” or “Marked as no-show” mean?

The action worked and the list has refreshed. The same goes for “Seated”, “Completed”, “Check-in undone”, “Unseated” and “No-show undone”. Every action taken at the register also appears on the reservation’s timeline in the admin and on the admin Host page.

Reservations › Waitlist

What do the “Waiting” and “Notified” badges mean?

“Waiting” means the party is still waiting for a spot. “Notified” (green) means someone pressed Notify to tell them a spot is ready.

What does “waited 25 min (quoted 30)” mean?

The party has been on the waitlist for 25 minutes, and they were told to expect about 30. The quoted time appears only when one was given.

What does “Notify” do?

It marks the party as called, and emails them the table-ready note when an email is on file. Without an email it only changes the status to Notified; the page tells you which will happen before you tap. Open the party, tap More actions, then Notify. The toast reads “Party notified”. Riserva does not send text messages. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

Why is there no “Notify” button under More actions?

The party has already been notified; its badge reads “Notified”. Seat party (at the bottom of the page) and Remove (under More actions) are still available.

What does “Remove” do on a waitlist party?

It takes the party off the waitlist, for example when they leave. It is under More actions on the party’s page. The toast reads “Removed from waitlist”. No reservation is created.

What does “Seat party” do?

It opens today’s open times for the party, with the experience they asked for listed first. Tapping a time creates a reservation, checks the party in and seats them in one step, then opens the new reservation so a priced experience can be collected with Add to cart — collect $X. The toast reads “Party seated — reservation created”.

What does “Party of 4 — pick a time” mean?

You are seating a waitlisted party. Each button is an open time today and the venue it is at, for example “2:00 PM — Main Room”, grouped by experience. Tap the one you are seating them in, or Back to return.

What does “Nothing open right now for this party” mean?

No experience has an open time today that fits this party size at this location. Seat them from the Host page in the admin, or remove them from the waitlist and rebook.

When something is refused (Reservations tile)

What does “No connection — try again.” mean?

The register could not reach Riserva, usually because the iPad is offline or the network dropped. Riserva in POS needs a working connection; nothing works offline and nothing is saved until you retry. Check the Wi-Fi and tap the action again. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

What does “Sign in to POS to use Riserva.” mean?

The register is not signed in to Shopify POS, so it cannot prove to Riserva which shop it belongs to. Sign in to POS and open the tile again. Riserva has no active location matching this register’s Shopify location, so it does not know whose reservations to show or which waitlist to use. In the Riserva admin, open Settings → Venues & floor maps so Riserva picks up your Shopify locations, and check this location is active. See also: Locations and venues

What does “Something went wrong. Check the connection and try again.” mean?

The register could not get an answer from Riserva — usually a dropped connection, sometimes a problem on Riserva’s side. Check the register is online and try again; if it keeps happening, do the action from the Riserva admin and contact support.

Why does Adjust party size show “The new size doesn’t fit this slot”?

You raised the party size, and the bigger party does not fit in the time it is booked for. The page stays open: lower the number, or change the party size from the reservation’s edit page in the admin, where you can override.

Why does it say “Refunding beyond the cancellation policy isn’t enabled for POS”?

Your shop does not allow the register to refund more than the cancellation policy gives, so a full refund was refused and nothing changed. Handle it from the reservation page in the admin, or allow it under Settings → Policies → Refund overrides. See also: Cancellations and refunds

What does ”… has no times today at this venue — check the party in without moving” mean?

There is no slot today to move the early party into. Check them in without moving, or move the reservation from its edit page in the admin.

What does “This check-in already charged the guest’s saved card, so it can’t be undone. The payment stays on the reservation — edit or cancel it instead.” mean?

Checking this party in charged the card the guest saved at checkout, so the check-in cannot be undone; the party stays checked in. If the reservation is wrong, edit or cancel it from its page in the Riserva admin. A charge only waiting for the hourly collection does not block an undo.

What does “The reservation’s order was marked fulfilled when the party was checked in, so the check-in can’t be undone.” mean?

When the guest saved a card at checkout to pay later, checking in marks the reservation’s Shopify order fulfilled, and that cannot be taken back from the register. The party stays checked in. Edit or cancel the reservation from its page in the Riserva admin if it is wrong.

What does “This reservation is already seated, so its check-in can’t be undone. Refresh the page to see where it stands.” mean?

A seated party goes back one step at a time: tap Unseat first, then Undo check-in. If nobody here seated the party, someone did on another device; go back to the list to see where it stands.

What does “This reservation is confirmed, so its no-show can’t be undone. Refresh the page to see where it stands.” mean?

The reservation is no longer a no-show — someone already undid it, on this register or another screen, and it may since have been checked in. Go back to the list to see where it stands.

What does “Couldn’t set the cart’s customer — clear the cart and try again” mean?

The register would not change the cart’s customer to the reservation’s guest, so nothing was added. Clear the cart and tap the add button again.

What does “Couldn’t add to cart — try again” mean?

The register refused to add the experience to the cart, so nothing was added and the reservation still owes the money. Tap the button again.

What does “Couldn’t tag the sale with the reservation — try again” mean?

The item reached the cart but the label that connects it to the reservation did not stick, so Riserva took the item back out. A sale without that label could not mark the reservation paid. Tap the add button again.

What does “Add items to the sale first — a credit needs something to come off” mean?

The register cart is empty, so there is nothing for the credit to come off. Ring the guest’s purchase first, then apply the credit. Nothing was recorded and the credit is untouched. On the Bill credits tile the apply buttons stay greyed out with this sentence until the cart has an item; on the Reservations tile the same words appear as a message when you tap.

What do “No bill credit on this reservation” and “This reservation is cancelled” mean when applying a credit?

The credit cannot be applied: either there is none left on the reservation, or the reservation was cancelled. Nothing was added to the sale.

What does “This party was already seated or removed.” mean on the waitlist?

Someone already acted on this party, on another register or in the admin. Go back to the list; it shows the party’s current state.

What does ”… was created, but the check-in did not go through” or ”… is checked in, but seating did not go through” mean?

Seating a waitlisted party made the reservation but could not finish the check-in or seating step. The reservation exists with the code shown; open it from the list or the admin Host page and finish checking in or seating there.

Book reservation tile

What does “Walk-ins & phone bookings” under the Book reservation tile mean?

It is the tile’s label: use it to book a walk-in party or a reservation taken over the phone, for today or any future day. See also: Book a reservation

What is “Step 1 of 3 — Day & party”?

Pick the day (Today, Tomorrow, or any date under “Or pick a day”) and the party size, then tap See what’s available. The highlighted button is the day currently chosen. Party size goes from 1 to 20 here.

What is “Step 2 of 3 — What’s available”?

It lists every live experience that takes a party of the size you chose, as a card, with this register’s location’s open times for that day. The cards come in the order set with Reorder on the Experiences page in the admin (alphabetical until someone reorders). Experiences that are members-only, unlisted, or past their online booking cutoff still appear, because staff may book them. Experiences that do not take that party size are left out, and so is a one-time event whose dates have all passed.

What does the grey line on an experience card mean, like “90 min · $40.00 per guest · Up to 8”?

It is the experience’s length, its price and the largest party it takes. “$1,500.00 for the venue” means one price for the whole venue however many come; “Free” means there is no entry fee.

What does “Pick time” mean on a card?

The experience has open times that day for your party. Tap the card or the button to choose one.

What does “Join waitlist” mean on a card?

The experience has no open times left today for this party, so you can put the party on this location’s waitlist instead. They then appear in the Waitlist tab of the Reservations tile. It is only offered for today.

What does the “Fully booked” badge on a card mean?

The experience has no open times left today for this party, and this register cannot offer the waitlist because its Shopify location is not linked to a Riserva location. Try another experience, day or party size. See also: Locations and venues

What does the “No times” badge on a card mean?

On the future day you picked, the experience has no open time that fits this party. That can mean it is full or simply not running that day. Try another day or party size; the waitlist is only for today.

What does “Nothing on Sat, Aug 15 fits a party of 4.” mean?

No live experience takes a party of that size. Check each experience’s party limits in the admin, or try a different party size.

What is “Step 3 of 3” with a list of times?

Each button is an open start time that day and the venue it is at, for example “2:00 PM — Terrace”, in time order. Tap one to go to the guest details.

What is “Who’s it for?” / “Final step — Guest”?

It is where you say who the reservation is for. The box at the top repeats the experience, day, time, party and venue. Search for an existing Shopify customer, type the details in by hand, or book with no details at all. See also: Book a reservation

What does the toast “Guest filled from the cart’s customer” mean?

A customer was already attached to the register cart, so Riserva filled in the guest from that customer. Tap Clear selection if the reservation is for someone else.

What does “Search customers” do?

It opens the Find customer screen and searches your Shopify customers by name, email or phone, showing up to five matches. Tap a match to fill in the guest details.

What does the “Member” badge on a customer mean?

That customer carries one of your member tags in Shopify, so Riserva treats them as a club member. It is the same recognition used everywhere else in Riserva, and the reservation records it. See also: Member benefits

What does “Type at least two characters of the guest’s name, email, or phone.” mean?

The search needs at least two characters before it runs. Type a little more and tap Search.

What does “No customers matched” mean?

No Shopify customer matches what you typed. Try another spelling, the email or the phone, or tap Back to guest details and type the guest’s details by hand.

What does “Customer search isn’t available on this device” mean?

This register could not search your Shopify customers just now. Go back and type the guest’s name, phone and email by hand; the reservation works the same.

What do “Unnamed” and “No contact details” mean in customer results?

“Unnamed” is a Shopify customer with no name on file. “No contact details” means the customer has neither an email nor a phone number in Shopify.

Why are some guest fields greyed out?

You picked a Shopify customer, and the fields their customer record already fills (name, phone, email) are locked so the register cannot overwrite your customer data. Fields the record leaves empty stay open, so you can add a missing phone. To change a locked field, tap Clear selection and type the details instead.

What does “Clear selection” do?

It removes the customer you picked and empties the name, phone and email, so you can search again or type the details by hand.

What does “On file” under the selected customer mean?

The customer you picked has no email or phone to show, but the reservation is still linked to their Shopify customer record.

What is “Email (for the confirmation)”?

It is the guest’s email address, saved on the reservation. When you enter one, Riserva sends the guest the Reservation confirmed email as soon as you book, unless that email is switched off in Settings › Emails. The address is also used for the pre-visit reminder and other emails. It can be left empty. See also: Customer emails

What is “Special requests”?

A free note for anything the team should know, like an allergy or a birthday. It shows on the reservation’s detail page in the Reservations tile and in the admin.

What is the difference between “Book reservation” and “Book as guest — no details”?

Book reservation saves whatever guest details you entered or picked. Book as guest — no details books the party with no name, email or phone on purpose, for a quick walk-in; the reservation shows as “Guest”. That button disappears once you pick a customer; tap Clear selection first if you want it.

What does “Reservation booked” with a code mean?

The reservation is made and on the books. The code at the top (for example RES-8F5A76) is its reservation code, and the line under it gives the day, time and party size. It now appears in the Reservations tile and the admin.

What does “$X due — add it to the cart to collect now, or leave it as Payment due.” mean?

The experience is priced, and reservations made at the register start as Payment due. Tap Add to cart to collect payment to take the money now, or leave it and collect later from the Reservations tile or the admin. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does “Add to cart to collect payment” do?

It puts the experience in the register cart: one item per guest, or one item at the venue price for a whole-venue buyout. It also sets the cart’s customer to the guest you booked for (or removes the customer if you booked as guest). Complete the sale and the reservation turns Paid by itself, at whatever the register actually charged, discounts included.

What does the “In the cart” badge mean?

The reservation’s payment is in the register cart. Go to the cart and take payment. Until the sale is completed the reservation stays Payment due.

What are “Booking”, “Date”, “Time” and “Party size” on the cart line and receipt?

They identify which reservation the item pays for: its code, day, time and party size. They print on the receipt too. A hidden label on the same line is what tells Riserva to mark the reservation paid when the sale completes.

What happens if I delete the reservation item from the cart?

The reservation is not affected; it simply stays Payment due. You can add it again from the reservation’s detail page in the Reservations tile, or collect it from the admin.

Why is there no “Add to cart” button after booking?

Either the experience is free, so there is nothing to collect, or it has no Shopify product yet (an experience gets its product when it is published). For a priced experience without a product, collect from the reservation page in the admin. See also: Publish an experience

What do “Book another” and “Done” do?

Book another starts a new reservation from step 1. Done closes the booking screen and returns to the POS home screen.

What is “Join the waitlist — …”?

It adds a walk-in party to this location’s waitlist for that experience. Enter the party size and a name (required), and a phone and email if you can. Add to waitlist stays greyed out until there is a name.

Why does the waitlist ask for an email “for the table-ready note”?

When you later press Notify, Riserva emails the party that their spot is ready, but only if it has an email. Without one, Notify just marks them as called and you have to fetch them yourself.

What does “On the waitlist” mean?

The party is on this location’s waitlist and now shows in the Waitlist tab of the Reservations tile, where you notify, seat or remove them.

When something is refused (Book reservation tile)

What do “Pick a valid day” and “Pick a party size” mean?

The day or the party size you entered could not be read. Pick the day again from the buttons or the date field, set the party size, and tap See what’s available.

Why did booking a time fail with a message like “That time just sold out.”?

The time was taken or blocked between seeing it and booking it, and the message says why: for example “That time just sold out.”, “No table can seat this party at that time.” or “Someone is checking out for that time right now. It frees up within about 12 minutes if they don’t finish.” Nothing was booked. Tap Back and pick another time, or book from the admin.

What does “Add a name for the party” mean?

A waitlist party needs a name so the host can call them. Type one in and tap Add to waitlist again.

What does “This register isn’t linked to a Riserva location” mean when joining the waitlist?

This register’s Shopify location is not linked to an active Riserva location, so Riserva does not know which waitlist to put the party on. Open Settings → Venues & floor maps in the admin so Riserva picks up your Shopify locations, and check this location is active. See also: Locations and venues

Bill credits tile

What does the Bill credits tile do?

It watches the register cart and lights up when the customer attached to it has prepaid credit on a reservation — or an entry fee still open today — so nobody has to look it up. Tap it to apply the credit to the sale, or to add the fee to the sale or waive it. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

Why is the Bill credits tile greyed out?

There is no credit to apply and no fee open right now: either no customer is attached to the cart (“Add a customer to the cart”), or the customer has neither (“No credit for this customer”). It lights up as soon as you attach a customer who has credit or an open entry fee today.

What do “Entry fee — saved card”, “Entry fee due” and “$40.00 credit · fee due” under the tile mean?

The customer in the cart has a party today whose entry fee is not settled. “Entry fee — saved card” means the fee is waiting on the card the guest saved at checkout (an “At the visit” experience) and will be charged when the visit is closed out unless you settle or waive it here; “Entry fee due” means the fee is simply owed (a phone booking, or a charge that failed). The third form means the customer has both credit and an open fee. Tap the tile to see them.

What does “$40.00 available” under the Bill credits tile mean?

The customer in the cart has $40.00 of unused credit across their reservations (up to the ten nearest to today). Tap the tile to see each one and apply it.

Where does bill credit come from?

A guest gets credit when they pay an entry fee for an experience set to “Credit the fee toward the guest’s bill”. The credit stays on that reservation until a completed sale uses it (putting it on a cart that is then cleared does not). Credit on a cancelled reservation is not offered. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does each row in Bill credits show?

The credit amount and the experience it came from, then the reservation code, date and time, under a Credits to apply heading. Each row has its own Apply $X credit to sale button.

What does “Apply $X credit to sale” do in Bill credits?

It adds a discount for that amount to the register cart, named “Riserva credit” plus the reservation code, and the reservation’s timeline records that you put it on a sale. The toast reads “Applied $X to the sale — it is used when the sale completes”. The credit is spent when the sale completes; until then the row stays in the list, and if the cart is cleared or the sale abandoned the credit is still there to apply again. The button is greyed out while the cart is empty.

What does “A credit is on this sale — it is used when the sale completes. The register holds one discount per sale.” mean?

A Riserva credit discount is already in the cart, so the other credits are greyed out: the register holds one discount per sale, and a second one would replace the first. Complete this sale, then apply the next credit to a new sale. The lock lifts as soon as the cart is empty again.

What does “Add a customer to the cart first” mean?

Credits belong to a guest’s reservations, so Riserva needs to know who the customer is. Attach the customer to the cart and the list fills in by itself.

What does “Checking for credits and fees…” mean?

Riserva is looking up the cart customer’s credits and today’s open entry fees. It takes a moment; on a weak connection it may end with “No connection — try again.”

What does “No credit or open fees for this customer.” mean?

Nothing to do for this customer: no unused credit on any reservation that is not cancelled, and no party today with an entry fee still open. Fees from other days are not offered here — collect those from the reservation page. If you expected a credit, check that the right customer is attached, and that the reservation is linked to that customer in Shopify.

What does the “Entry fees today” section show?

Each of the cart customer’s parties today whose entry fee is still open: the amount and experience, then the reservation code, party size and time (no contact details — the register never needs them), then a note — “Charged to the saved card at close-out unless settled or waived here.” (an “At the visit” reservation), “Payment due.”, or, once you have added the fee, “In this sale — completing the sale settles the fee.” Two buttons follow: Add $X fee to sale and Waive fee. The fee is the experience price times the party size, less anything already paid. A completed “At the visit” party drops off this list once its close-out charge comes due (15 minutes after Complete) — the saved card is about to be charged, and only the admin’s reservation page can still waive it. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does “Add $X fee to sale” do?

It adds the experience to the register cart, one unit per guest, labelled with the reservation. The toast reads “Added Xtothesale—completethesaletosettlethefee"andthebuttonchangesto"Addedtosale".Nothingissettledyet:whenthesalecompletes, thereservationreadsPaid, thesavedcard(ifany)isnevercharged, andtheX to the sale — complete the sale to settle the fee" and the button changes to "Added to sale". Nothing is settled yet: when the sale completes, the reservation reads Paid, the saved card (if any) is never charged, and the 0 order from the guest’s checkout is closed. Void the sale and the fee is back where it was.

What does “Waive fee” do, and why is it sometimes the darker button?

It forgives the party’s entry fee: the reservation reads Not required, the timeline records the waive with your name, the saved card is never charged, and the checkout’s $0 order is closed. The toast reads “Fee waived — RES-…” and the row leaves the list. If the fee was already added to the sale, Riserva takes that line out of the cart first. Which button is darker (the default) follows the spend rule: when the rest of the sale — the bottles, not any fee line — is over the amount set in Settings → Policies → Entry fees at the register (or the experience’s own amount), Waive fee is the default and the row says “Purchase over X—waivesuggested.";underit,Addisthedefaultandtherowsays"WaivesuggestedwhenthepurchaseisoverX — waive suggested."; under it, Add is the default and the row says "Waive suggested when the purchase is over X.” It flips live as items go into the cart. You always choose; the rule only suggests, and the timeline says whether a waive followed it.

What does the greyed-out “Collected on the saved card” button mean?

This fee was discounted at checkout (a member or automatic discount), so it is not a whole number of tastings at list price and the register cannot ring it. The saved card collects the discounted amount at close-out. Waive fee still works.

What does the greyed-out “Collect from the reservation” button mean?

The fee is owed (the reservation reads Payment due) but the amount is not a whole number of tastings at list price, for example after a discount or a partial payment, so the register cannot ring it, and there is no saved card to charge. Open the reservation to send a payment link or mark it paid on-site. Waive fee still works.

What does “Couldn’t take the fee out of the sale — remove the line, then waive” mean?

You tapped Waive fee after adding the fee to the sale, and the register would not remove the fee line. Nothing was waived — otherwise the sale would still collect a fee you had just forgiven. Remove the line from the cart yourself, then tap Waive fee again.

Who did it, and connection

Whose name goes on the timeline for actions taken at the register?

The staff member whose PIN is active on the register, shown as “Name · POS”, not the account the iPad is signed in with. A staff member who has never opened the Riserva admin shows as plain “POS” until their first admin visit. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS

Why does the timeline say just “POS” instead of a name?

Riserva knows which staff member did it but has not learned their name yet, because that person has never opened the Riserva admin. Once they open it once, their name appears on every past and future action.

Does Riserva work in POS when the iPad is offline?

No. Every Riserva screen in POS needs a connection, and offline you will see “No connection — try again.” Keep a printed day sheet from the admin for outages, and do the check-ins in Riserva once you are back online. See also: Reservations in Shopify POS
