When you uninstall Riserva, everything in Shopify stays in Shopify, and everything Riserva keeps is deleted 48 hours later. Your orders, products and customers are Shopify’s records and Riserva never removes them. Riserva’s own records — your setup and your reservations — go when Shopify asks Riserva to delete your store’s data, which Shopify does 48 hours after the uninstall.

What stays in Shopify?

Everything Riserva created in your store stays there after an uninstall:
  • Orders for reservations, add-ons and payment links, with their payments and refunds. They keep the riserva-booking tag and the reservation code tag (such as RES-7K4M), and the reservation details on the order line — experience, location, date, time and party size.
  • Products for your experiences and add-ons. Add-on products Riserva created are Unlisted, so they stay out of your storefront’s search and collections.
  • Customers, including any your team created while booking a reservation.
  • Images you uploaded through Riserva, such as add-on photos and email logos, in Shopify’s Files.
Riserva doesn’t delete any of these on the way out. If you aren’t coming back, set your experience and add-on products to draft or archive them in Shopify: an order for one of them no longer becomes a reservation.

What does Riserva delete, and when?

At the moment you uninstall, Riserva deletes your plan details and its connection to your store. From then on Riserva can’t reach your store, and Shopify stops sending it your orders. 48 hours later, Shopify sends Riserva a request to delete your store’s data, and Riserva deletes all of it at once:
  • your locations, venues, tables and floor maps
  • your experiences, schedules, blackout periods, add-ons and policies
  • every reservation, with its history, notes, guest answers and add-ons
  • the waitlist, visit records and member-benefit records
  • your settings — emails, integrations such as your Klaviyo key, regional formats and the rest
  • staff names and the record of who viewed guest contact details
This can’t be undone. Riserva deletes nothing before that request arrives, but don’t rely on that window as a backup.
Good to know — save what you need first. Before you uninstall, export your reservations from Reservations → Export (the dialog’s button reads Export reservations). Once Riserva’s data is deleted, the Shopify orders are the only record left, and they don’t carry check-ins, no-shows, table assignments, staff notes or the timeline.

What happens to my plan?

Uninstalling ends your subscription: it won’t renew. Shopify still keeps the plan current until the end of the period you were in — or, during the free trial, until the day the trial would have ended. If you reinstall before that date, your plan is still in place. Riserva shows you Shopify’s plan page once (it shows your plan as current, with nothing to select), then opens as usual with a notice at the top: “Riserva Pro ends” and the date. After that date, Riserva takes you to Shopify’s plan page each time you open it until you choose a plan. See Plans and billing for the details, including Renew now.

What do guests with future reservations experience?

Their reservations don’t disappear from Shopify — each one is a paid (or saved-card) Shopify order, and the order stays exactly as it was. But Riserva stops working for your store as soon as it’s uninstalled:
  • Online booking stops. The booking window can no longer load times or hold a slot, and the page guests use to manage their reservation stops answering.
  • Riserva sends no more emails — no reminders, no changes, no cancellations.
  • Saved cards are not charged. A reservation set to charge a saved card before the visit or at check-in is never charged, because Riserva can no longer reach your store.
  • Nothing is cancelled or refunded for you. Riserva doesn’t contact your guests about the uninstall. Honour, refund or cancel those visits yourself from the Shopify orders.

What happens if I reinstall?

Reinstalling works like a first install. Open Riserva in your admin once after reinstalling. That first visit is when Riserva reconnects to your store’s orders and makes sure its checkout rule, “Check reservations at checkout”, is in place; until then, storefront orders don’t become reservations. Riserva doesn’t go back and pick up orders placed while it was uninstalled. If your data was already deleted, Riserva starts empty: the setup guide is back on Home, and you build your venues and experiences again. Your old experience products are still in Shopify but aren’t linked to anything, so a booking block left on one of their product pages tells guests “This product isn’t set up for reservations yet”. Publishing a new experience creates a new product; move the booking block to it, or remove the old products.
