Plan notice (above every page)

What does “Riserva Pro ends Tue, Oct 13” mean?

Your Riserva plan will not renew, and Shopify keeps it active until that date. Riserva keeps working normally until then. When the date passes, Riserva takes you to Shopify’s plan page to choose a plan before the admin opens again. If the banner reads “Riserva Pro is ending” with no date, Shopify did not give an end date, but the plan is still not renewing. See also: Plans and billing

Why is my plan ending when I didn’t cancel anything?

Shopify treats an uninstall as the end of the subscription, so a store that uninstalled and reinstalled Riserva keeps the old plan only until its period (or trial) runs out. The same happens if the plan was cancelled on Shopify’s plan page. Nothing is wrong with your reservations; you only need a plan in place by the end date. See also: Plans and billing

What does “View plan” in the plan notice do?

It opens Shopify’s own plan page for Riserva, outside the app. While your plan is still current, that page shows it as current with its expiry date and may have nothing to select; that is Shopify’s page, and it is expected. See also: Plans and billing

I dismissed the plan notice. Why did it come back?

Dismissing hides it only until you close the browser tab or window. It returns the next time you open Riserva because the plan still has an end date. It also returns at once if the end date changes.

What does “To renew before then, ask the store owner.” mean?

Renewing early ends the current plan, and only the Shopify store owner can do that. You are signed in as a staff member, so the Renew now button is not offered to you. Ask the owner to open Riserva and use Renew now, or simply wait until the end date. See also: Plans and billing

What does “Renew now” do?

It ends your current plan today and sends you to Shopify’s plan page to choose and approve a plan. It exists because Shopify’s plan page has nothing to select while an ending plan is still current. Pressing it does not end anything yet: a window first explains the consequences and asks you to confirm. See also: Plans and billing

Why don’t I see “Renew now”?

It appears only to the store owner, only when your plan is ending, and only when Riserva has confirmed with Shopify that the plan is ending. If any of those is missing, the notice shows “View plan” alone. You can always wait for the end date and choose a plan then.

What happens if I press “End plan and choose a new one”?

Three things: your current plan ends today and this cannot be undone; you go to Shopify’s plan page to choose and approve a plan; and Riserva’s admin stays closed until a plan is approved. Your storefront booking widget, the POS tiles and existing reservations keep working while the admin is closed. Shopify settles any credit for unused paid time and shows the new plan’s price before you agree.

What does “Keep my current plan” do?

It closes the window and changes nothing. Your plan stays active until its end date.

What does “Your plan has ended” mean?

Renew now worked: your old plan is over. Press “Continue to Shopify’s plan page” to choose and approve a plan. Until you do, Riserva’s admin will keep sending you to that page.

What does “We could not reach Shopify to check your plan. Nothing was changed. Try again in a minute.” mean?

Before ending anything, Riserva asks Shopify for your plan’s current state, and that check did not answer. Your plan was not touched. Wait a minute and press Renew now again.

What does “Shopify did not confirm that your current plan was ended. It may not have changed.” mean?

Riserva asked Shopify to end the plan and did not get a clear yes. Open Shopify’s plan page with “View plan” to see where things stand, or try again in a minute.

What does “We could not reach Riserva. Your plan may not have changed.” mean?

Your browser could not get an answer from Riserva, often because the connection dropped. The plan may or may not have ended. Check Shopify’s plan page, or try again in a minute.

What does “Your plan is not ending, so there is nothing to renew.” mean?

Shopify now says your plan renews normally, so there is nothing to do. The notice will disappear the next time Riserva re-reads your plan.

What does “Only the store owner can end the current plan. Nothing was changed.” mean?

The person pressing the button is not the Shopify store owner, so Riserva refused. Ask the owner to do it.

What does “Plan changes are not available right now.” mean?

Riserva could not use its connection to Shopify’s billing system, so it cannot end a plan at the moment. Nothing changed. Wait for the end date, or try again later.

Home › Setup guide

What is the “Setup guide”?

It is a four-step checklist for getting Riserva ready for guests: venues, an experience, your cancellation policy, and the storefront widget. Each step opens the page where you do the work, and most steps tick themselves off once Riserva sees the work done. See also: Install Riserva and work through setup

What does “2 / 4 completed” mean?

Two of the four setup steps are done. The small bar beside it fills as steps are completed. When all four are done the counter reads “Done” with a tick.

What do the dashed circle and the dark tick next to a step mean?

A dashed grey circle means the step is not done yet. A dark circle with a white tick means it is done. Hovering the circle shows “Mark as done” or “Mark as not done”.

When does “Set up your property and venues” tick itself off?

When you have at least one venue and at least one table, seat pool or other bookable space inside a venue. A location alone is not enough, because locations come from Shopify on their own. “Open venues” takes you to Settings › Venues & floor maps. See also: Set up locations and venues

When does “Create an experience and schedule it” tick itself off?

When any experience has at least one schedule on it. It does not need to be published yet for the step to count, but guests can only book it once it is published. See also: Create your first experience

When does “Review your cancellation policy” tick itself off?

As soon as you open Settings › Policies. Keeping the default policy counts as reviewing it, so you do not have to change or save anything. See also: Cancellation policies

When does “Place the booking widget on your storefront” tick itself off?

The first time the widget loads anywhere, in the theme editor preview or on your live storefront, or when your first online reservation arrives. Riserva cannot look inside your theme, so it waits for the widget to contact it. After adding the “Experience booking” block, visit or preview the product page once. See also: Add the booking widget to your theme

What does “Open the theme editor” do?

It opens your current theme’s product template in Shopify’s theme editor, in a new tab. From there choose Add block, then Apps, then “Experience booking”, and save. See also: Add the booking widget to your theme

I clicked “Mark as not done” but the step stays ticked. Why?

A step that Riserva detected from your own data stays done no matter what the circle is set to. Marking by hand only adds a tick for a step Riserva cannot see; it never removes one Riserva found.

How do I hide the setup guide, and can I get it back?

Choose “Dismiss” from the three-dot menu, or press “Dismiss Guide” at the bottom once every step is done. Dismissing is permanent for your store: there is no button to bring it back. The arrow button beside the menu only collapses the guide for now. See also: Install Riserva and work through setup

What is the blue “Next: …” banner on the Venues, Experiences or Policies page?

It points you to the next unfinished setup step once the step for the page you are on is done, for example “Next: create an experience”. Its button opens that step’s page. It stops appearing once every step is done or the setup guide has been dismissed.

Home › Today by location

What is “Today by location”?

One tile per active location, showing how many reservations that location has today, grouped by status. “Today” is each location’s own calendar day in its own time zone, shown at the top right of the tile with the zone, for example “Thu, Oct 1 · PDT”.

What does a badge like “Confirmed: 6” mean?

Six of today’s reservations at that location are in the Confirmed status. Every status that has at least one reservation today gets its own badge, cancelled and no-show ones included, so the badges add up to every reservation dated today.

What do the badge colours on Home and in the reservations list mean?

They follow the reservation’s status: Confirmed is plain grey (the expected state of every upcoming reservation), Pending payment is yellow-orange, Checked in is blue, Seated is green, Completed is a neutral “new” badge, No-show is orange, and Cancelled is red. In the reservations list and Home’s “Next 10 upcoming reservations”, a checked-in party where only some guests are here reads a yellow “Partial check-in”, and the small circle on a badge shows arrival: open for a party still to come, half-filled when only some came, full when everyone is here. Beside the status, the list can also show an orange “Overbooked” badge or a red “Booked after its time” badge. The “Today by location” counts use the plain status names, without the partial wording.

What does “No reservations today” mean?

That location has no reservations of any status dated today in its own time zone. Upcoming days are in the “This week” card and the Reservations list.

What does “No locations yet. Riserva reads your locations from Shopify. Add one under Shopify Settings → Locations, then add venues and experiences here.” mean?

Riserva has no active locations for your store yet. Locations come from Shopify: add one in Shopify’s own Settings › Locations, then open Settings › Venues & floor maps in Riserva, which brings your Shopify locations in, and add a venue there. See also: Set up locations and venues

Home › This week

What is the “This week” card?

It shows what is on the books for the next seven days, starting today, counted by visit date across the whole shop. Each figure is compared with the same seven weekdays averaged over the past four weeks. “Open Host” takes you to the service-day screen. See also: What each report answers

What do “Reservations”, “Covers” and “Booked value” mean in “This week”?

Reservations is how many reservations have a visit in the next seven days. Covers is the number of guests across them. Booked value is the money those reservations are worth: what has already been collected plus what is still due. Cancelled reservations are left out of all three.

What do the green and red percentages in “This week” mean?

They compare the next seven days with the average of the same weekdays over the past four weeks. Green with an up arrow means ahead of that average by that percentage; red with a down arrow means behind. A short dash means no change. No percentage appears when there is no history to compare with, and Booked value never gets one.

What do the bars in “This week” show?

One bar per day for the next seven days, starting today, showing that day’s covers (guests). The sentence under the chart gives the four-week average for the same weekdays, or says “No history yet for these weekdays; the comparison fills in after a few weeks.”

Why don’t I see the “This week” card?

It is hidden when there are no reservations in the next seven days and no history from the past four weeks to compare with. It appears as soon as either exists. It also needs at least one active location.

Which time zone does “This week” use?

The time zone of your first location in alphabetical order decides what “today” is. The card covers every location together.

Home › Next 10 upcoming reservations

What does “Next 10 upcoming reservations” show?

The ten soonest reservations whose start time has not passed yet, across all locations, that are Pending payment, Confirmed, Checked in or Seated. Click a row to open the reservation. For the full list, use Reservations. See also: The reservations list

Why is a party I just checked in missing from “Next 10 upcoming reservations”?

The card only shows reservations whose start time is still ahead. Once the start time passes, the reservation leaves this card even if the party is on the property. Use Host for who is here now. See also: Running service with the Host view

Why does a row say “Guest” instead of a name?

The reservation has no guest name on it. Riserva shows the email instead when there is one, and “Guest” when there is neither. Open the reservation to add details.

What does the purple “Member” badge mean?

The guest was recognised as a wine-club member when the reservation was made, from the member tags on their Shopify customer record. It is recorded at the time of the reservation, so a guest who joins later does not gain the badge on old reservations. See also: Member benefits

Home › Quick actions

What does “Book reservation” under Quick actions do?

It opens the availability search, the first step of booking a reservation for a guest on the phone or at the desk. It is the same as Reservations › Book reservation. See also: Booking a reservation for a guest

Home › Payments queue

What is the “Payments queue”?

It counts the reservations whose saved card is due to be charged, is being charged, or failed to charge. These are reservations where the guest saved a card at checkout to be charged later: before the visit, at check-in, or (under “At the visit”) after the visit is closed out. Riserva collects them automatically every hour; the card lets you see the queue and run it now. See also: Payment policies and money states

Why don’t I see the Payments queue?

It only appears when charging a saved card later is turned on for your store, or when there are already charges due, in progress or failed. If you never charge later, there is nothing to queue.

What does “3 charges due” mean?

Three reservations have reached the moment their saved card should be charged and have not been charged yet. These reservations read “Charge scheduled”. The badge turns yellow-orange when the number is above zero. The hourly collector will charge them, or you can press “Run due charges”.

What does “1 charging” mean?

Shopify has accepted a charge for one reservation but has not confirmed it yet; that reservation reads “Charging”. It is not a payment yet, so do not collect again. The next run checks with Shopify first and turns it into Paid or Charge failed. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does “2 failed” mean?

Two reservations have a saved card that did not work; they read “Charge failed” and the badge turns red. Each one is owed money: open it from Reservations › Needs attention and collect with Retry, a payment link, on-site payment, or waive it. The count drops as each one is resolved. See also: A reservation’s page

Why does the Payments queue show only numbers, and which reservations are in it?

The card shows counts only. Failed charges also appear in Reservations › Needs attention. To find due or charging ones, export the reservations list and look at the “Payment state” column for “Charge scheduled” or “Charging”.

What does “Run due charges” do?

It runs the same collection the hourly collector runs, right now: it first checks any charges still waiting for Shopify, then charges every saved card that is due. It is greyed out when nothing is due and nothing is charging. A card is only ever charged for what its order still owes, so pressing it twice does not double-charge.

What does “Charge sweep finished: 2 attempted · 1 charged · 0 failed · 1 confirmed by Shopify.” mean?

Attempted is how many charges Riserva started in this run. Charged is how many finished straight away. Failed is how many were refused, including earlier ones Shopify has now answered with a refusal. Confirmed by Shopify is how many earlier “Charging” reservations Shopify confirmed as paid during this run. An attempted charge that is neither charged nor failed is waiting for Shopify and shows as Charging until the hourly collector resolves it.

Home › Recent activity

What is “Recent activity”?

The last five things that happened across your shop: reservations made and changed, payments, waitlist movement, guest emails, and Shopify Flow problems. “View all activity” opens the full feed.

What do “Just now”, “12m ago” and “3h ago” mean under an activity line?

How long ago it happened: under a minute, minutes, or hours. After 24 hours the date is shown instead. The reservation code in front of it links to that reservation.

What does “Reservation activity will appear here.” mean?

Nothing has happened yet that the feed records. It fills in as soon as a reservation is made.

Activity page

What is the Activity page?

Every reservation, waitlist and guest-email event across the shop, newest first, grouped by day, 50 at a time. Each reservation’s own page has its complete timeline; this page is the shop-wide version. It is reached from Home and is not in the main navigation.

What is the line under each activity entry?

The reservation code (a link to it), the guest’s name, and who did it. Who did it can be a staff name with ”· Admin” or ”· POS” to say where they did it, or “Staff”, “POS”, “Guest”, “Shopify”, “System” or “Shopify Flow”.

What do “Staff” and “POS” mean without a name?

A staff member did it, but Riserva has not learned their name yet. A name appears once that person has opened Riserva in the Shopify admin at least once; until then their actions read plain “Staff” (in the admin) or “POS” (at the register).

What do “Shopify”, “System”, “Guest” and “Shopify Flow” mean as the actor?

Shopify means it came from Shopify, usually an order arriving or being paid. System means Riserva did it on its own, for example the hourly collector or a visit ending automatically. Guest means the guest did it themselves, for example online. Shopify Flow means one of your Flow workflows did it.

Which time zone are Activity times in?

The time zone of your first location in alphabetical order, so the whole feed reads on one clock. Each reservation’s own page shows times in its own location’s zone.

What does “Older activity” do?

It loads the next 50 older entries. When there is nothing older, the page says “Nothing older — you’ve reached the beginning.”

What does “Activity will appear here as reservations come in.” mean?

The feed is empty because nothing it records has happened yet.

Why isn’t a billing or settings change in the activity feed?

The feed only carries reservation, waitlist and guest-email events, plus Shopify Flow failures. Plan changes, privacy requests, Klaviyo diagnostics, floor-map saves and similar housekeeping are recorded elsewhere and kept off the feed.

Activity sentences

What does “Reservation created for a party of 4” mean?

A new reservation for four guests was made, online, by phone, at the desk or on POS. The actor at the end of the line says who made it.

What do “Reservation confirmed”, “Guest checked in”, “Party seated”, “Reservation completed”, “Marked as no-show” and “Reservation cancelled” mean?

Each records the reservation moving to that status: confirmed (for example once payment cleared), the party arrived, they were seated, the visit finished, they never came, or the reservation was cancelled.

What does “Visit ended automatically — nobody pressed Complete” mean?

The party was checked in or seated, and their visit ran past its expected end plus the grace period, so Riserva marked it Completed by itself. Nothing is wrong; staff often skip pressing Complete. The grace period is set in Settings › Reservations › Ending visits.

What does “Visit ended automatically at the end of the day — nobody pressed Complete” mean?

The party was checked in or seated, nobody pressed Complete, and your store ends visits at the end of the day, so Riserva marked it Completed by itself at midnight, property time (or at the visit’s own end, if later). The answer is chosen in Settings › Reservations › Ending visits.

What does “Marked no-show automatically, 60 min after the reservation time — never checked in” mean?

The party never checked in, and your store marks no-shows by itself a set time after the reservation time, so Riserva marked it a no-show once that time had passed. The number follows the wait in Settings › Reservations › No-shows. It comes from System, right after “Marked as no-show”: nobody pressed the button. If the guest walks in, press Undo no-show on the reservation.

What does “Marked no-show automatically at the end of the day — never checked in” mean?

The party never checked in, and your store marks no-shows at the end of the day, so Riserva marked it a no-show at midnight, property time, after the reservation’s date. It comes from System: nobody pressed the button. The answer is chosen in Settings › Reservations › No-shows.

What does “No-show undone — the party is back among those arriving” mean?

A staff member pressed “Undo no-show” because the party was marked a no-show too soon and turned up after all. The reservation went back to Confirmed (or Pending payment) and the party is listed as arriving again.

What does “Check-in undone — the party is back among those arriving” mean?

A staff member pressed “Undo check-in” because the party was checked in by mistake. The reservation went back to where it stood before, and the party is listed as arriving again.

What does “Party unseated — checked in, not yet at a table” mean?

A staff member pressed “Unseat” because the party was marked Seated by mistake. It is back to Checked in.

What does “Still here — the visit runs on, the automatic end waits” mean?

A staff member pressed “Still here” for a party staying longer than planned, so the automatic end was pushed back about 30 minutes. It does not block online sales for later times.

What does “Reservation rescheduled to Sat, Oct 3, 2:00 PM” mean?

The reservation was moved to that date and time. If it ends in ”— capacity overridden”, staff chose to overbook the new time on purpose.

What does “Changed to Estate Tasting → Reserve Tasting on …” mean?

Staff moved the reservation to a different experience, from the first name to the second, at the date shown. The price was recalculated for the new experience.

What does “Party size changed from 4 to 6” mean?

The number of guests on the reservation changed. If the party grew on a paid reservation, a separate line says how much more is due.

What do “2 of 4 guests here” and “All 4 guests here” mean?

A host recorded how many of the party actually came, with Partial check-in or Edit guests here: two of four, or the whole party. “The guest is here” is the same for a party of one, and ”— capped to the new party size” means the party was made smaller than the number recorded. The party size and the money do not change.

What does “Assigned to T4” or “Table assignment cleared” mean?

The reservation was given that table (or tables), or its table was taken off. A reservation without a table on a floor-map venue still needs a seat somewhere.

What do “Table T4 kept (was a suggestion)”, “Table T4 locked”, “unlocked” and “handed back to automatic seating” mean?

They record a host deciding about a table Riserva suggested: keeping it, locking it so nothing moves it, unlocking it, or giving the choice back to Riserva. See also: Tables and the floor map

What does “Comment: …” mean?

Someone added a comment to the reservation. Long comments are cut short in the feed; open the reservation to read it in full.

What does “Refunded $50.00” mean?

That amount went back to the guest through the Shopify order.

What does “Refund of $50.00 failed — issue it from the Shopify order” mean?

Riserva tried to refund and Shopify refused. The guest has not been paid back. Refund from the Shopify order, or use Retry on the reservation’s Payment card. See also: Cancellations and refunds

What does “Refund of $50.00 pending” mean?

A refund is owed but has not been sent yet. The reservation’s Payment card shows it with Retry and Mark handled.

What does “Refund of $50.00 recorded as handled outside Riserva” mean?

Staff pressed Mark handled to say the refund was dealt with some other way, for example directly in Shopify or in cash. Riserva did not send money itself.

What does “Refund of $30.00 withheld per the cancellation policy” mean?

Seats were removed from a paid party, and your cancellation policy did not allow refunding all of that share, so that amount was kept. The percentage in brackets is how much the policy allowed back. See also: Cancellation policies

What do “Full $60.00 refund chosen, overriding the cancellation policy” and “Refund overridden to … at cancellation” mean?

Staff chose to refund a different amount than the cancellation policy would have given. The amount the policy allowed is shown in brackets, with any note staff wrote.

What does “Refund of $30.00 skipped — payment kept on file” mean?

The party got smaller, and staff chose not to send a refund for the removed seats.

What does “Reason for cancelling: …” mean?

The reason chosen when the reservation was cancelled, with any note in quotation marks.

What does “$25.00 put on a register sale — it is used when that sale completes” mean?

Staff put the reservation’s fee credit on a register sale as a discount. It is not spent until that sale completes; a cleared cart or abandoned sale leaves the credit on the reservation.

What does “$25.00 bill credit applied to register sale #1234” mean?

The tasting fee the guest paid was credited against their bill at the register: the sale (Shopify order #1234) completed with the credit’s discount, and the credit is now spent. Older entries read “applied to the register sale” without a number.

What does “Register sale #1234 carried this reservation’s bill credit, but the credit had already been used — check both sales” mean?

A completed sale carried the credit’s discount after another sale had already spent it — two registers applied one credit, or the discount was typed by hand. Open both orders in Shopify.

What does “Payment attached — $80.00” mean?

A Shopify order paying for this reservation was linked to it, for that amount. With “(payment pending)” the order is linked but the money has not cleared yet.

What does “Payment received after cancellation” mean?

Money arrived for a reservation that was already cancelled. Check whether it should be refunded.

What do “Payment waived by staff” and “Payment marked as paid on-site” mean?

Staff cleared a balance due: waived means you decided not to collect it; paid on-site means it was collected some other way, such as cash. Neither moved money through Shopify.

What does “2 guests added — $60.00 payment due” mean?

The party grew on a paid reservation, and the added guests owe that amount. The reservation shows a balance to collect.

What does “Unbilled balance reduced by $30.00” mean?

A balance that had not been collected yet got smaller, usually because the party shrank, so less is now owed.

What do “Additional payment received — $60.00 on #1042” and “Additional payment pending on #1042” mean?

A second payment for this reservation came in on that Shopify order, typically a payment link for added guests. Pending means the order exists but the money has not cleared yet.

What does “Payment mismatch — paid 100.00,expected100.00, expected 120.00” mean?

The order paid a different amount than the payment link asked for. Open the reservation and the Shopify order to see what happened, and collect or refund the difference. “Payment link created for $X” means a link was made to collect that amount; “Invoice emailed to …” means it was sent to the guest. “Voided” means it was cancelled; “Payment link discarded — the reservation changed while the link was being created” means Riserva deleted a brand-new link because the reservation was cancelled or changed mid-creation (make a new one if money is still owed). “Out of date — party size changed” means the party changed after the link was made, so make a new one. “Draft order was deleted in Shopify”, “status couldn’t be verified” and “couldn’t be voided” mean something happened to the link in Shopify that Riserva could not follow; check the reservation’s Payment card.

What does “Guest email and phone added from the Shopify order” mean?

The reservation was missing those details, so Riserva filled them in from the order that paid for it. It never overwrites details staff typed in.

What does “Overbooked — slot filled during checkout” mean?

The guest paid online for a time that filled up while they were checking out, so the reservation exists but there is more booked than the time normally takes. It carries an “Overbooked” badge and appears under Needs attention until it is completed, cancelled or marked a no-show. Decide whether to make room, move it, or cancel and refund.

What does “Paid (order #…) after the visit had ended — move it to a new date or cancel it to refund” mean?

The order arrived after the reservation’s visit was over — usually a cart left for days and checked out later. The reservation was kept (the guest paid) and marked Booked after its time; the guest’s confirmation was not sent (the timeline says “Confirmation email not sent (the order arrived after the visit had ended)”). It is under Reservations › Needs attention until you move it to a new date or cancel and refund it.

What does “Overbooked flag cleared — the seats were there all along” mean?

Riserva re-checked and found the reservation fits after all, so the Overbooked badge was removed.

What does “Duplicate Shopify order ignored” mean?

A second Shopify order arrived for a reservation that was already paid for, and Riserva did not attach it. Check the order in Shopify in case the guest paid twice.

What does “Shopify order didn’t match the payment link” mean?

The reservation was waiting to be paid through its payment link, but a different order was paid for it instead, so that money was not attached. Look at both orders and settle the reservation by hand.

What does “Shopify order couldn’t be matched to a reservation” mean?

An order arrived carrying reservation details, but Riserva could not read enough of them to create the reservation. Open the order in Shopify and book the reservation by hand.

What does “Membership benefit check failed” mean?

Riserva could not check the guest’s club membership when the reservation was made, so no member benefit or badge was applied. The reservation itself is fine.

What does “Add-on rejected” mean?

The order contained an add-on that does not exist in your store or belongs to a different experience, so Riserva did not attach it to the reservation. Check the order in Shopify.

What do “Added to the waitlist — party of 2”, “Waitlist guest notified their table is ready”, “Seated from the waitlist after 25 min” and “Left the waitlist after 40 min” mean?

They follow a waitlist party: joining, being told their table is ready, being seated (after waiting that long), or leaving without being seated. See also: Running service with the Host view

What does “Confirmation email sent to …” mean?

The guest was sent that email at that address. The same pattern covers Reminder, Cancellation, Rescheduled and Charge-failed notice emails. “Notification email sent” is used for other kinds, such as the waitlist table-ready note. See also: Customer emails

What does “Confirmation email failed to send” mean?

Riserva tried to send the email and it did not go out. Check the guest’s address on the reservation and your email settings. See also: Email settings

What does “Rescheduled email skipped (switched off in Settings → Emails)” mean?

No email was sent because that email type is switched off in Settings › Emails. Switch it back on there if guests should receive it.

What do “Rescheduled email not sent (the guest was at the counter)” and ”… email not sent (staff chose not to notify the guest)” mean?

No email was sent, on purpose, even though that email is switched on. “The guest was at the counter” is written when a host moved an early-arriving party to now at check-in. “Staff chose not to notify the guest” is written when staff moved the reservation without emailing the guest. Nothing needs changing in Settings › Emails.

What does “Shopify Flow trigger ”…” could not be sent” mean?

Riserva tried to start your Shopify Flow workflow for this reservation and Shopify did not accept it, so that workflow did not run this time. See also: Shopify Flow

What does “Arrived early — moved from … to … at check-in” mean?

The party came before their reserved time and staff chose to move the reservation to now when checking them in. “(seated over capacity)” means the earlier time was full and staff seated them anyway.

What do the “Balance charge” lines mean?

They follow a saved card being charged for a balance. “Charge now” means staff asked for it early; “attempted” and “submitted — waiting for Shopify to confirm” mean it is in progress; “Balance charged to the saved card” means it went through (with “confirmed by Shopify” once Shopify reported it paid); “failed” means the card did not work and money is owed.

What does “Saved card paid the original order — $30.00 still due for seats added since” mean?

The saved card covered the order as it was first placed, but guests added afterwards were never on that order, so their share is still owed. Collect it from the reservation’s page.

What does “Checkout saved a card under a policy that doesn’t defer — charging now” mean?

The guest checked out with a pay-later option even though the experience is now set to charge at checkout, usually because the setting changed recently. Riserva charges the saved card right away instead of waiting. The first means the balance was paid at the POS register. The second means the guest also paid the payment link afterwards, so they paid twice; refund one of the two.

What do the “Shopify order …” lines mean?

They follow the Shopify order behind a saved-card reservation: “cancelled” (the reservation was cancelled, so its unpaid order was closed), “released from hold” (it now reads unfulfilled, and is fulfilled at the visit), and “fulfilled at check-in”. A line ending ”— … it by hand” means Riserva could not do that step; do it in the Shopify order.

What do the “shared saved-card” lines mean?

They appear when a guest checked out two or more billed-later reservations in one order, so one saved card covers them all. “Shares its saved card with RES-… — the two are charged together” says so; the card is charged once, for the whole order. “The shared saved-card charge included $X already settled another way — refund it on the order” means the one charge took a share that had already been paid at the register, waived or paid by link, so the guest paid it twice; refund that amount from the Shopify order. Open the reservation for the details.

What does “Charge schedule restored by Riserva support” mean?

Riserva support corrected this reservation’s charge schedule by hand. No action is needed.

Why does an activity line show text like “booking.something”?

Riserva recorded an event it does not have a sentence for yet, so it shows the event’s internal name. Open the reservation to see what changed, and let support know which line it was.

Reservations › Tabs

What does the “Upcoming” tab show?

Reservations whose start time is still ahead, except cancelled and no-show ones, soonest first. The list opens on this tab. See also: The reservations list

What does the “Today” tab show?

Every reservation dated today, whatever its status, cancelled and completed included. “Today” is the calendar day of your first location in alphabetical order.

What does the “All” tab show?

Every reservation, past and future, in any status, with the latest visit first.

What does the “Needs attention” tab show?

Reservations that need someone to act: Pending payment, Overbooked (until it is completed, cancelled or marked a no-show), Booked after its time (paid after the visit had ended, not yet moved or closed), Payment due (including partly paid ones), Charge failed, a saved-card charge held up by an add-on change Shopify never confirmed, and an order that paid for a different number of guests than the party (until someone presses Mark handled on the reservation, or it is cancelled). Check it daily and work it down to empty. See also: The reservations list

Why isn’t a “Charging” or “Charge scheduled” reservation in Needs attention?

Those are on track: a scheduled charge will be collected automatically, and a charging one is waiting for Shopify. They join Needs attention only if the charge fails.

What do the “Completed” and “Cancelled” tabs show?

Completed shows finished visits; Cancelled shows cancelled reservations. Both list the latest visit first.

Reservations › Columns and badges

What does the “Code” column show?

The reservation’s confirmation code, such as RES-7K4M, which the guest also receives. The prefix can be changed in Settings › Reservation IDs; older codes keep the prefix they were made with.

What does the “Guest” column show?

The guest’s name, or their email when there is no name, or “Guest” when there is neither. A purple Member badge appears when the guest was recognised as a club member.

What do the “Experience” and “Venue” columns show?

What the guest booked and the venue it takes place in.

What does the “Date & time” column show?

When the visit is, in the location’s own time, for example “Sat, Aug 15, 11:00 AM”. The year appears only when it is not the current year.

What does the “Booked” column show?

When the reservation was made, not when the visit is, shown in the location’s time. It is hidden by default; turn it on from the columns button.

What does the “Party” column show?

The number of guests. It is right-aligned so the numbers line up as you scan down.

What does the “Channel” column show, and what do Online, Phone, Walk-in and POS mean?

How the reservation reached you. Online came through the booking widget on your storefront. Phone and Walk-in were booked by staff in the admin, who chose which one; parties seated from the waitlist are Walk-in too. POS was booked at the register. The column is hidden by default.

What do the status badges mean?

They are the reservation’s status. Pending payment: an order was placed but its payment has not cleared, such as a bank transfer; Confirmed: booked and expected. Checked in: the party has arrived; Partial check-in: checked in, but a host recorded that only some of the guests are here; Seated: they are at their table. Completed: the visit is over, either pressed by staff or ended automatically after the visit time. No-show: they never came, marked by staff or automatically; Cancelled: the reservation was cancelled. See also: A reservation’s page

What does the orange “Overbooked” badge mean?

More is booked at that time than it normally takes, because the time filled up while this guest was still checking out online. Staff who override capacity on purpose do not get this badge. The reservation is real and paid for. It appears in Needs attention; decide whether to make room, move it, or cancel and refund.

What does the red “Booked after its time” badge mean?

The guest paid for this reservation after its visit had already ended, usually from a cart left open for days. Riserva kept the reservation, because the money is real, but sent no confirmation and will not mark it a no-show automatically. It sits in Needs attention until you open it and either move it to a new date or cancel and refund it; the badge goes away once it is moved, cancelled, completed or marked a no-show. See also: A reservation’s page

Why is there no payment column in the list?

The list shows status, not money. The payment state is on each reservation’s page and in the export’s “Payment state” column, and unpaid ones gather in the Needs attention tab.

What does “Showing the first 50 — narrow the filters or search to see the rest.” mean?

The list shows at most 50 rows at a time, in the current tab’s order (on Upcoming and Today, that is the 50 soonest). Use search, a date filter or a location to find what you need, or export for the full set. See also: The reservations list

What does “No reservations found” mean?

Nothing matches the current tab, search and filters together. Clear a filter or switch tabs, or press Book reservation to take one.

Why can’t I uncheck Code, Guest, Date & time or Status?

Those four columns are always shown. You can hide Experience, Venue, Party, Channel and Booked.

What does the columns button do, and why do my columns differ on another device?

The button at the right end of the search row opens a checklist of columns to show or hide. Your choice is saved on this device and browser only, so the front-desk iPad and your laptop can differ. “Reset to default” hides Booked and Channel again and shows the rest.

Reservations › Search, filters and sort

What can I search for in the reservations list?

A reservation code (part of one works, such as “7K4M”), a guest name, email, phone number, or Shopify order number. Search looks across all reservations and then keeps only those that also fit the current tab and filters.

Why can’t I find a reservation I know exists?

Search results still obey the tab you are on: a past or cancelled reservation will not show on Upcoming, for example. Switch to the All tab and search again. Search also returns at most 50 matches, latest visit first, so for a very common name add a filter or search by code.

What does the “Status” filter do?

Shows only reservations in the statuses you tick; you can tick several. It works inside the current tab, so Status: Cancelled on the Upcoming tab finds nothing.

What does the “Channel” filter do?

Shows only reservations that came in through the channels you tick: Online, Phone, Walk-in or POS.

What does the “Date” filter do, and why doesn’t it react while I type?

It limits the list to visits in a range you pick on the calendar: one tap for a single day, a second tap for the last day of a range (a tap before the first day starts over). The range reads under the calendar and on the filter pill in your store’s date format (Settings › Regional formats); Clear removes it.

What does the “Booked” filter do?

It limits the list to reservations made in a range you pick on the calendar, whatever the visit date, which answers questions like “what came in during the promotion week?”. Days are read in your first location’s time zone.

What does the “Location” filter do?

Shows only reservations at one of your active locations.

What are the pills like “Status: Confirmed” above the list?

They show the filters in use. Click a pill’s × to remove that one, or “Clear all” to remove every filter and the search.

What do the sort options mean?

Visit time sorts by when the visit is; Booked sorts by when the reservation was made; Party size sorts by number of guests. Upcoming, Today and Needs attention open soonest first; All, Completed and Cancelled open latest first. Clicking the Date & time, Booked or Party heading sorts by it too.

Can I save my own view or act on several reservations at once?

No. The six tabs are the views there are, and rows cannot be selected together; every change is made on a reservation’s own page. Filters and search live in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered list.

Reservations › Export

What does “Export” do?

It downloads a spreadsheet file (CSV) of reservations with full details: guest contacts, party, tables, money, special requests, intake answers, add-ons, and every check-in and status time. It opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. See also: The reservations list

What does “12 matching this view and filters” mean in the export window?

That option exports exactly what the list is showing: the current tab, filters and search, with the count of reservations it will include. The line under it names what is applied, such as “Upcoming view · 2 filters”. Unlike the list, the export is not cut off at 50 rows.

What does “All reservations” in the export window mean?

Every reservation in your store, ignoring the tab, filters and search, with the latest visit first.

What does “Exported the first 5000 — narrow the filters for the rest” mean?

An export holds at most 5,000 reservations, and your selection had more, so the file is incomplete. Narrow the filters, for example by a Booked or Date range, and export again for the rest.

What does “Export failed (500)” mean?

The file could not be produced. Nothing was downloaded. Try again; if it keeps failing, narrow the filters and note the number in brackets for support.

What do the export’s “Weekday”, “Visit end”, “Duration (min)” and “Lead time (days)” columns mean?

Weekday is the visit’s day of the week. Visit end is when the visit is scheduled to finish. Duration is the visit length in minutes. Lead time is how many whole days ahead the reservation was made.

What is the export’s “Guests arrived” column?

How many of the party actually came, as a host recorded it with Guests here on Host, the reservation page or POS. It sits beside “Guests”, which stays the party size the reservation is for. It is blank when nobody recorded a number, and always blank for a cancelled reservation; a checked-in party with a blank count was counted as all here.

What does the export’s “Tables” column show?

The table or tables the reservation is on, joined with ”+”, with seat numbers in brackets when specific seats were chosen. “(suggested)” means Riserva picked the table and may still move it; it is not yet a promise to the guest.

What do the export’s “Payment state” values mean?

Paid: collected; Payment due: owed and not collected, including a party that paid in part; Not required: free. Awaiting payment: an order or payment link exists but the money has not arrived. Card on file: a saved card to be charged at check-in (or, under “At the visit”, when the visit is closed out, unless the register settles it first); Charge scheduled: a saved card to be charged on a set date. Charging: Shopify is processing the charge. Charge failed: the saved card did not work and money is owed. See also: Payment policies and money states

What do the export’s “Paid”, “Balance due”, “Refund owed” and “Fee credit” columns mean?

Paid is what was collected for the experience itself; add-on money is not included. Balance due is what is still owed: a balance recorded on the reservation (such as for guests added to a paid party), otherwise the price for the party less what was paid, plus any add-ons not yet paid. It also counts a balance waiting on a saved card. Refund owed is a refund that failed and still has to be sent. Fee credit is the tasting fee that can be credited against the guest’s bill. For a full money picture of one reservation, open its page.

How is “Balance due” worked out for a reservation that reads Payment due?

It is the balance recorded on the reservation when there is one; otherwise it is the experience’s price for the party less what was already paid, plus any add-ons not yet paid. So a phone reservation for a priced experience that has not been paid shows its full price here, not 0.00.

What do the export’s “Member” and “Overbooked” columns mean?

They read true or false. Member is true when the guest was recognised as a club member when the reservation was made. Overbooked is true when the reservation carries the Overbooked badge.

What does the export’s “Add-ons” column show?

Each add-on bought with the reservation, separated by ”|”, with “×2” for quantities above one and “(refunded)” when it was refunded.

What do the export’s “Intake answers”, “Special requests” and “Staff notes” columns show?

Intake answers lists each question with the guest’s answer, separated by ”|”. Special requests is what the guest or staff wrote when booking. Staff notes are internal notes on the reservation.

What is the “Book reservation” search page?

The first step of booking for a guest: choose location, experience, party size, dates and time, press Search, and see what is open. Pressing “Select time” on a result takes you to the second step, where you pick the exact time and take the guest’s details. See also: Booking a reservation for a guest

What do the search fields mean?

Location limits results to one property (“All locations” searches every one). Experience limits to one active experience. Party size is how many guests are coming. Dates is one day, or a range of up to 14 days. Time is “Any time”, one time to search around, or a From–To window.

What does “Around 2:00 PM” in the Time field mean?

You picked one time, so the search shows times up to 90 minutes before or after it. Add a “To” time for an exact window instead, for example 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The time list runs from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM in half-hour steps.

Why did my date range stop at 14 days?

A search covers at most 14 days at once, and a longer range is cut back to 14 days from the start date. Search again from a later start date to see further ahead.

What does “2 of 5 experiences have open times · party of 4 · around 2:00 PM” mean?

Five experiences run in the dates and times you searched, and two of them still have at least one time that can take a party of four. The others appear as cards that explain why they cannot.

Why can staff book things the website doesn’t offer?

The staff search ignores the online booking cutoff (how close to the visit guests can still book) and shows members-only and hidden experiences, so you can book them on a guest’s behalf. Capacity, tables, pacing, private events and blackout dates still apply exactly as online.

Why do I see times earlier today that have already started?

The staff search does not apply the online cutoff, so today’s earlier times stay listed while they still have room. That lets you record a party who has already arrived. For a guest booking ahead, pick a time that is still to come.

What does the “Members only” badge on a result mean?

Online, only recognised club members can book this experience. Staff can book it for anyone, so check that the guest is a member before you do. See also: Party size and visibility

Why does a hidden (unlisted) experience show up without any badge?

The staff search lists every active experience, including ones you keep off the website, and only members-only ones get a badge. A hidden experience looks like any other result here.

What does “6 open · 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 12:30 PM” mean on a result?

Six times that day can take your party, and the first four are listed. “+2 more” opens the full list. When the experience runs in more than one venue, a time open in any of them counts once.

What does “Open times · spots left” with “11:00 AM · 6” mean?

Each open time, followed by how many more guests that time can still take. The number appears only for experiences limited by a guest count; times at table-based or whole-venue experiences show no number, because what is left depends on which tables are free. See also: Capacity strategies explained

What does the “Sold out” badge mean?

The experience runs that day and fits your party size, but no time in your search can take the party. It could be full, have no table big enough free, be booked out by a private event, be at a pacing limit, or be held by a guest checking out. Try another day, time or party size.

What does “No open times this day.” mean?

The same as Sold out: the experience is scheduled that day but nothing can take your party at the times searched.

What does “Takes parties of 2–8 — this search is for 12.” mean?

Your party size is outside the experience’s smallest and largest allowed party, so no time can be offered. Change the party size, or adjust the limits in the experience’s settings if this party should be allowed. See also: Party size and visibility

What do “per guest”, “for the venue” or “No booking fee” on a result mean?

“per guest” is the price the experience charges for each guest. “for the venue” means a whole-venue experience charged once for the venue, however many guests come. “No booking fee” means it is free to book.

What does a line like “Tasting Bar · Napa Estate · 60 min” on a result mean?

The venue (or how many venues it runs in), the location, and how long the visit lasts.

What does “Nothing scheduled” mean?

No active experience has any time on the dates, location and time window you searched. Try other dates or another location, or widen the time.

What does “Sat, Oct 3 – Mon, Oct 5 — nothing scheduled” mean?

In a range search, those days have no experience running at the times searched, so they are shown as one quiet line instead of empty sections. Blackout dates appear this way too. Only published (Active) experiences appear, and only on days their schedule runs at an active venue and location. A Draft experience, a day outside its schedule, or a blackout date leaves it out. If you picked one time, times outside 90 minutes of it are left out too.

What does “No experiences yet” mean?

You have no published experiences, so there is nothing to search. “Go to experiences” takes you to create or publish one. See also: Publish an experience

Book reservation › Moving a reservation

What does “Moving RES-7K4M — Ana Ruiz” at the top of the search mean?

You opened the search to move an existing reservation, not to make a new one. The party size is fixed to the reservation’s, and the line under it says what it is booked for now. Choosing a different experience re-prices the reservation. “Cancel move” takes you back without changing anything. See also: Editing a reservation

What does “This changes the experience” on the move page mean?

The new time belongs to a different experience, so the price may change. The sentence below says what happens: nothing collected yet and the new price can be collected later; more is due and the reservation will show Payment due; less is due and the difference can be refunded; or the price works out the same. Table assignments are cleared and any open payment link is voided.

What does the “Refund $20” checkbox on the move page do?

The new experience costs less than what was paid, and ticking it sends that difference back to the guest’s original payment when you press “Move reservation”. Untick it to keep the money.

Why can’t I move this reservation?

Only reservations that are Pending payment or Confirmed can be moved. Once a party is checked in, seated, completed, a no-show or cancelled, the move page sends you back to the reservation.

Book reservation › Guest and finalize

What does the right-hand “Reservation” card show?

The date, party size and chosen time, the open times for that day as buttons, the price, the Channel, and the Book reservation button. “Edit search” goes back to the search with your choices kept. “Pick a time” means no time is selected yet.

Why is “Book reservation” greyed out?

No time is selected. Press one of the time buttons on the right first.

What does “Nothing open for a party of 4 on Sat, Oct 3 — edit the search to try another day.” mean?

By the time this page loaded, no time that day could take the party anymore. Use “Edit search” to try another day, time or party size.

Why are times grouped under venue names?

The experience runs in more than one venue that day, so each venue’s open times are listed separately. The venue you pick a time under is where the party will be.

What does “Customer” search do?

Type at least two characters to search your Shopify customers by name, email or phone; up to eight matches appear with their email or phone and order count. Picking one attaches that customer to the reservation. If nobody matches, “No customers found — enter their details below.” appears and you type the guest’s details instead. See also: Booking a reservation for a guest

What does the purple “Member” badge in customer search mean?

The customer’s Shopify tags match one of your member tags, the ones listed under Settings › Memberships › Member recognition. It is the same purple badge as everywhere else in Riserva; the reservation’s own Member badge is decided separately when it is saved. See also: Member benefits

What does the grey card with a name and a remove button mean?

That Shopify customer is attached, and the reservation will use their name, email and phone exactly as Shopify holds them. The typing fields are hidden while a customer is attached. Press the remove (bin) button to detach them and type details by hand.

What does “Shopify would not share customer details with Riserva for this store. Enter the guest by hand for now, and contact Riserva support.” mean?

Shopify has not approved Riserva to read customer names, emails and phones for your store, so customer search cannot run. You can still type the guest’s details. The approval is granted to the app through Shopify’s partner settings, so contact Riserva support. See also: Install Riserva and work through setup

What does “Customer search failed — try again.” mean?

The search did not get an answer from Shopify. Type again in a moment, or enter the guest’s details by hand.

Which guest fields are required?

Only Name. Email and Phone are optional, but without at least one of them the reservation is not linked to a Shopify customer, and without an email the guest cannot be sent any email, such as the pre-visit reminder.

What happens with the guest’s details when I don’t pick an existing customer?

If you entered an email or phone, Riserva looks for a Shopify customer with that email (or phone) and links the reservation to them, or creates a new customer when none exists. If Shopify does not answer, the reservation is still made, just without the link.

What does the country selector next to Phone do?

It sets the country the phone number belongs to, so the number is checked and formatted for that country as you type and saved in international form. It starts on the United States; change it before typing a foreign number.

What does “Enter a valid phone number for the selected country” mean?

The number does not look like a real phone number for the country chosen beside it. Check the digits, or change the country. Leave the field empty if you do not have a number.

What does “Enter a valid email address” mean?

The email is missing an ”@” or a domain, or contains spaces. Fix it, or leave the field empty.

What does “Guest name is required” mean?

The Name field was empty. Type a name, or attach a customer from the search.

What is “Special requests” for?

Anything the guest mentions, such as a celebration, allergy or accessibility need. It is saved on the reservation and shows on its page, the day sheet and the export. Your online intake questions are not asked here, so note any answers that matter in this box. See also: Intake questions

What does “Channel” (Phone or Walk-in) on the finalize page mean?

How the reservation reached you: Phone for a call, Walk-in for someone at the desk. It is recorded on the reservation and shown in the list’s Channel column, filter and export. It also decides the confirmation email: a Phone reservation with an email address gets one, a Walk-in does not. It starts on Phone.

What does “75×4guests"or"75 × 4 guests" or "1,500 for the venue” on the finalize page mean?

The price of this reservation: per-guest experiences multiply by the party size, while a whole-venue experience is one price for the venue whatever the party size. The total is on the right. Booking does not charge anything. The reservation is created Confirmed with its payment shown as “Payment due”, and you collect it afterwards from the reservation’s page: send a payment link, take it on-site, or waive it. See also: Payment policies and money states

What does “No booking fee.” on the finalize page mean?

The experience is free to book, so the reservation is created with nothing to collect.

What does “Policy: …” under the experience name mean?

The name of the cancellation policy this experience uses, so you can tell the guest which terms apply. It appears only when the experience has a policy of its own. See also: Cancellation policies

Why does the experience description appear on the finalize page?

So you can read it to the guest on the phone. It is the same description guests see online.

Will the guest get a confirmation email?

Yes, for a Phone reservation with an email address: the Reservation confirmed email goes out as soon as you book, unless it is switched off in Settings › Emails. A Walk-in, or a reservation with no email, gets none, so read the date, time and reservation code to the guest. Paying a payment link later sends nothing extra. The pre-visit reminder still goes out the day before when there is an email. See also: Customer emails

Book reservation › When something is refused

What does “That time was just taken — pick another from the times on the right.” mean?

The time you chose in the search filled up before this page opened. Pick another open time from the buttons on the right.

What does “That time just sold out.” mean?

Between choosing the time and pressing Book reservation, other reservations took the remaining places. Nothing was saved. Pick another time.

What does “No table can seat this party at that time.” mean?

The venue seats parties at tables, and no free table or combination of tables fits this party for the whole visit at that time. Nothing was saved. Try another time, or check the floor map if you expected a table to be free. See also: Tables and the floor map

What does “A private event books the whole venue at that time.” mean?

A whole-venue reservation (a buyout) overlaps that time, so nobody else can be booked into the venue. Nothing was saved. Pick a time outside the private event.

What does “Someone is checking out for that time right now. It frees up within about 12 minutes if they don’t finish.” mean?

A guest online is in the middle of paying for that time, and their place is held for them for up to 12 minutes. If they finish, the place is theirs; if they give up, it frees up. Nothing was saved. Try again in a few minutes, or pick another time.

What does “That time has reached its pacing limit.” mean?

The venue limits how many guests can start within the same 15 minutes, and adding this party would go over it. Nothing was saved. Pick a time 15 minutes or more away.

What does “That party size is outside this experience’s limits.” mean?

The party is smaller or larger than the experience allows. Change the party size in the search, or change the experience’s party limits.

What does “That time is no longer offered. Pick a time from the list.” mean?

The time is no longer on the experience’s schedule, often because the schedule or a blackout changed after you searched. Nothing was saved. Go back to the search and pick again.

What does “That experience or venue could not be found.” mean?

The experience or venue was removed or unpublished while you were booking. Nothing was saved. Search again.

What does “That time already has as many parties as it allows.” mean?

The experience limits how many separate parties can start at the same time, and that time already has the maximum. Nothing was saved. Pick another time.

What does “That time is not available.” mean?

The time was refused for a reason Riserva has no more specific sentence for. Nothing was saved. Pick another time, and tell Riserva support if it keeps happening.

What do “Pick a time for the reservation”, “That time just sold out.” and “The reservation changed while moving it — refresh and retry.” mean?

They come from moving a reservation. The first means no new time was chosen. The second means the new time filled up before the move went through; pick another. When the new time is refused for another reason, the message names it instead, for example “No table can seat this party at that time.” or “That time already has as many parties as it allows.” The third means someone else changed the reservation at the same moment; reload the page and try again.

Can I book a time that is full anyway?

Not from Book reservation: it only offers times with room and has no override. To overbook on purpose, book an open time and then change it from the reservation’s Edit page, which offers “Overbook — apply this change anyway” when a change does not fit. That override is recorded on the reservation’s timeline. See also: Editing a reservation

Why is a time I saw in the search missing on the finalize page?

The finalize page checks availability again when it opens, and it lists only times that can still take the party. Times filled or held by a guest checking out in the meantime drop off the list.

Does Book reservation add anyone to the waitlist?

No. Book reservation only books open times. The waitlist for parties waiting on the day is run from Host. See also: Running service with the Host view
